Summary: After the Red Sea crossing, God led the Israelites to St Sinai. At Mt Sinai, God himself came down like fire upon the mountain and encountered the people. God's desire was to reveal himself to the nation of Israel and build a relationship and develop his purpose for them was a royal priesthood, but instead of drawing closer to God, they turned away from him and worshipped idols. While the people turned from God, Moses ran toward him encountering his glory over and over. Our revelation of God can only be in proportion to our relationship with him.
