Summary: <p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Jefferson Exchange – May 2, 2013, HOUR 1</p><p><b> <span class="headlinetext">Allergy Season Peaks</span> </b><br><br> Bless you.  Or gesundheit, if you prefer.  The terms get a lot of use this time of year, as springtime and the growth of new plant life fill the air with pollen, triggering allergies some people didn't even know they had.  <a href="http://www.allergyasthmaso.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Allergist Dr. Edward Kerwin</strong></a> will join us in studio to talk about the mechanisms of seasonal allergies, and how to ease their effects. </p><p><b> <span class="headlinetext">Children in Poverty</span> </b><br><br> It may be slow in coming, but the numbers tell a story of a recovering economy.  But it does not appear to be recovering quickly enough for Oregon's children.  The recently released annual report of <a href="http://www.cffo.org/" target="_blank"><strong>Children First for Oregon</strong></a> shows an increase in childhood poverty in the state, among many other findings.  You'll hear the results statewide, and within some of the region's counties.                                </p>
