What difference does Jesus make? (Rev 3:14-22)

Village Church Audio show

Summary: Skeptics Forum - 7 | SEVEN - 8: Warning - This message is a scathing critique of both religion and irreligion. What is the purpose of life? All the great thinkers such as Camus, Huxley, Voltaire, Shakespeare, and Jesus himself knew that the regular person was too busy at work and play to be able to really answer the question of purpose and meaning. In this message we explore what the true meaning of life really is from Jesus perspective and find out that a middle-of-the-road approach to God is not an option. In contrast we are called to recognize who we are before God and our need of him and trust him for salvation instead of ourselves. In the most famous letter of the seven Jesus warns the church at Laodicea and the world that a mediocre approach to him will result in him vomiting them out of his mouth. He focuses on people understanding who they are before God - wretched, pitiable, naked, poor and blind which is their only hope of salvation because it's the only way they will ever fully depend on and trust Jesus rather than themselves.
