"Plane Talk" - March 21, 2012

Plane Talk show

Summary: We have received an email from one of our IMC Weekend Edition readers. In it he writes: "The best way to experience ice is to understand it! (...) There is no substitute for actual experience. While there are many airborne atmospheric conditions to be completely avoided, such as hail, thunderstorms, freezing rain and some others, ice is not necessarily one of them. We all like to stay out of ice, though pilots operate safely, competently and with reasonable comfort in icing conditions on a daily basis. (...) Flying in or around icing conditions is just another skill, however essential for an IFR pilot. Go find some ice!" Do you agree with him? We will discuss this, plus current aviation news and events! Listen - if you missed it!
