Summary: Al-Ghazālī and Ibn Rushd, two of the greatest thinkers in the Islamic tradition, gave a great deal of thought to the relationship between faith and reason, and to what should be done when received religious tradition appears to conflict with what reason appears to demonstrate. With whom should such problems and their resolutions be shared? Mainstream Christians and Jews have studied the works of the two men for centuries; perhaps what they say will prove interesting to Latter-day Saints, as well.
