Summary: This week, Dave talks with Susan Kolb, women’s soccer head coach and Assistant Athletic Director for Student Athlete Well-being. This podcast begins the weekly format and Dave introduces one of the new head coaches for the fall season. Besides talking soccer and coaching philosophy, they explain the new efforts this year on increasing our athlete retention rates. Supported by an NCAA grant, Sue will be responsible for class attendance and educational programming for all athletes and academic tracking and support for all freshmen athletes. Inside Athletics is a weekly podcast hosted by Athletic Director Dave King. The podcast offers a synopsis of what is happening in EMU athletics, but also delves deeper into how athletics at EMU shapes lives and enhances college educations by positively impacting an athlete’s understanding of self, others, and God. Sports Information Director James De Boer is a regular guest with EMU coaches and athletes making appearances as well.
