Summary: As with the United States the Germans saw changes to their choice in main battle rifle (MBR) between 1918 and 1938. Even during the Second World War the Germans changed horses adopting variation of their MBR including the second semi-auto service rifle of the war. Despite the high quality of all the rifles fielded by the German military in both conflicts not many survive today in modern circulation.
