Summary: Every year tens of thousands will be killed on the roads and highways of America. These are classified as accidents and in 2010 more that 33,000 died because of negligence. Of those about have involve a drunk driver the rest are the result of pure negligence. Compare that to about 12,00 murders committed with fire arms or the 606 that died from unintentional or accidental firearms discharges. There is a real tragedy here and it is not that people can own AR-15s it is that we live in a society that does not want to look in the mirror and admit that there is a more systemic problem.
