Unlimited Ideas

MikesPodcast show

Summary: Hi! This is Mike Cowles from Internet Marketing Podcast and in today's session we're gonna be talking about a great technique for storing ideas and making sure that you never run out of content and in today's power tip we're gonna talk about a great way to stand apart of the crowd and build a relationships. Let's jump right in. So the first thing as far as getting ideas and having a never ending supply of ideas is to use your smartphone. I use the iPhone, if you have an Android, it doesn't matter. All of them have an app which is free in there which is notepad or some version of notepad. The key for me, personally because I'm a little bit ADD and sometimes I get distracted by things is as soon as I get a good idea I get into the habit of writing it down. If you get into the habit of doing this, everytime you wanna make a blog post or a video or a podcast, you simply go to your iPhone that you always have with you and you'll see that you have some great content in there, great ideas and you can just expand about it and talk about it for a few minutes like I'm doing here. So now for today's power tip, one of the ways that you can stand apart from other people and build relationships is also with your smartphone. Now, if you don't have a smartphone, they're really coming down in price I suggest you get one. Even if you're on a company like Cricket or Boost Mobile you can get phones like iPhone for $50 a month. In my opinion because I use my phone for my business I treat it as an investment. I went with Verizon. I think they have the best coverage and the best service and you can get that for around $100 a month for an iPhone. To me, the iPhone is the best versus the Android but either way it'll still works. Now here's how to separate yourself from everybody else. In order to build relationships once you finished having a conversation with somebody, it doesn't matter if its in a networking event, if its in the phone, if its on Skype or if its via email. If this is somebody that is in an influential circle that you wanna be in. In other words, you wanna build relationship with that person then use your phone and create a self portrait video that short like 30 seconds to sum it up. Now the way to do that on the iPhone for instance is to simply go to your camera. You switch it from the pictures to the video like this and then you switch it the view right there and this will actually show me. If I take the video like this, I simply hit record on here and I would stand there and hold the camera and say something like “Hey Tom, this is Mike Cowles. I just wanna say it was great meeting you at the event and I appreciate you sharing the content that you did about your business and the about the upcoming JV that we might have going on. I think this would be a great fit for your list. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know. Talk to you soon.” Then you can actually send that video with your phone, whether its an Android or an iPhone you can send it to them as a text message attachment or you can send it to them as an email. What you'll find is nobody is doing this out there. When I say nobody, I'm doing it. Some intelligent marketers that are aggressive about building a relationship are doing it. The vast majority is afraid to do this. So if you don't mind having a conversations, just like I'm having right now with somebody, where you look at the lens for thirty seconds instead of looking into their eyes and recognize that they're gonna be looking at that the same way as you would having a conversation then you can build a relationship very quickly and it really only take about thirty seconds or a minute to do while its fresh in your mind. The key is to do it right away, as soon as you hang up as soon as you closed the door. Either go to your hotel room or go to your office or whatever it is but just record that video right then and sum up what we talked about. So that's my tip for today.
