After winning two consecutive games in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, the St. Bonaventure men's basketball team found themselves one win away from shocking the world and winning the Atlantic 10. After multiple upsets, the Bonnies were given an excellent matchup against Saint Louis. After holding the lead for the majority of the game, the Bonnies luck disappeared and they lost in the championship game. We have officially entered the 2019 offseason. After ending the season winning seven of their final eight games, the St. Bonaventure men's basketball team finished with a surprising seeding. After the St. Bonaventure lost all three games at the Cayman Islands Classic, the deflated Bonnies received some uplifting news. Courtney Stockard returned from injury after missing the first six games of the season. His presence was felt the second he stepped on to the court. Stockard led the Bonnies on a two-game winning streak and currently ranks second on the team averaging 15 points per game. His presence took a lot of pressure off the freshman who've carried this team early this season. That energized this team to play their best week this season. The St. Bonaventure men's basketball team entered a new era this season with Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley graduating from the university in May. With those two out, coach Mark Schmidt has relied on multiple freshmen to lead this team early in the season. After two games, this class has shown Bonnies fans how bright their future really is. They are without seniors Courtney Stockard and LaDarrien Griffin, so they Bonnies first-year players have struggled on the road and late in games. Their next opponent is Georgia State in the Cayman Islands Classic.
