Show Notes: On this episode of the Women with Fire Podcast Sarah interviews Angie Chandler, the founder and creative mind behind Come Follow Me FHE, a company that has made teaching Come Follow me to all ages of kids in an interactive, creative, engaging way. Angie talks about how her idea came to life, and how her initial response to the new Come Follow Me program was overwhelming. She decided to take matters into her own hands and creative fun activities to help children learn these principles in fun ways they'll remember and love. Angie talks about some challenges her family has been through including her husband developing a rare auto-immune disease. Angie talks about the 3 biggest mistakes parents make when teaching their children, and gives some great advice to better be able to engage them with Gospel principles. She talks about how from a very young age and growing up she was very insecure and afraid to be in front of people. She struggled in traditional school and had trouble finding her confidence. She talks about how she overcame that and really came to know who she was and embraced herself and her talents, and gained her confidence. Kate talks about her mission, how she decided to go, and the amazing transformation in her confidence that she found with the help of her companion. Kate talks about the courage it took to finally submit her paintings to Deseret Book and the moment she found out they wanted to take on her art, and how exciting and nerve-racking it was to take that leap of faith. Jennifer tells of her story, and talks about how she always asked questions even as an adolescent. She talks about why and how she came to pursue the field of sexuality and why she decided to study women in the church and sexuality for her doctoral discourse. Jennifer dives deep into some new ideas, what progression looks like, and why it's okay to be open minded to topics that are often "taboo" in the Church. She also gives her ideas on a better way to approach sexuality when we are raising kids. There is a way to direct them to make smart choices about their sexuality without shaming them, or supercharging their curiosity which can often lead down a negative path.
