eterogeneo - Minimal Ambient Looped Music

Summary: Welcome to my Podcast - Fabio Anile is a classical trained pianist and a keyboardist, fascinated by the cinematic dimension of music, as it clearly appears in his works as well in his musical collaborations. In the last 20 years worked with many ensemble and artists (Blue Shine, Sebastiano Gibilisco, Domino, Raffaele Gulisano, Suite Verlaine, enoLogica, Mannapò, Krispen Hartung, Per Boysen) and realized various audio-video performances (Fucktory - 1995, with architect-singer-songwriter Franco Ferrara; First call from the Moon - 2001, with spanish visual artist Xavier Plagaro Mussard; Il Sesto Continente, 2007-2008, with Carlo Micheli ensemble). As a member of the CT-Collective collaborated in various musical projects and leaded the CT-Great Speeches (2006) and the CT-Generative (2009), a generative-music project that also involves an online music installation. As a live looper, exhibited as featured performer/headliner in many international festivals playing between Europe (Zurich, Köln, Berlin) and USA (Santa Cruz, San Diego, Oakland). Fabio’s music can be defined as minimal, ambient, experimental and ranges from atmospheric film style soundtracks to a dark-glitchy ambient music and sometimes involves fields recordings. It's not a pure “wallpaper”, neither a "focused listening" type ambient, rather Fabio’s music bridges this gap neatly, allowing the listener the choice to be either transported or remain grounded depending on the mood of the day. All of the compositions take shape thanks to the creative process of live looping. Subscribe for free. More info: http://www.eterogeneo.com - www.myspace.com/eterogeneo

This video is here just as a document of me playing the first section of this renowed composition by Steve Reich with the help of a looping software (Mobius). The original score was written for two pianos, so I looped the first piano part playing over it the part of the second pianist. I wanted to enforce my concentration and ability to listen to and play over the "pulse", slowly moving to next rhythmic pattern. And I wanted to do it in a live context. The video starts with the tail of a dark soundscapes I was playing as an introduction. Here some transitions are played too fast - which is not good - and an accidental wrong note is clearly audible, but I hope the final result can deserve a listening
