Despite numerous scheduling difficulties, extreme heat and (still) flaky equipment, we've finally managed to get together and record our thoughts and wrap-up of Anime Expo 2015. When going to an anime con, one thing you're gonna need is money -- lots of money. Hotels, travel, food, registration, main event tickets -- they don't come cheap. Plus, you'll want to have some money left over to spend in the dealer's room, right? Well, budgeting may not be a particularly exciting topic, and it may either bore you or make you run screaming for the hills, but it's an absolutely necessary one, if you want to maximize your con-going enjoyment. Amazon has recently entered the hotly-contested set-top-box market, with its Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. It's been over a month since Anime Expo 2014, and thanks to an extremely busy schedule that just didn't mesh up with the busy schedules of my fellow cohosts, I haven't been able to finish editing our mega recap episode of doom. In this episode, we take a look at a really cool app for iPhones, iPod touches and iPads, Air Video HD. Air Video HD lets you stream video files over your home network from your computers, media centers, network attached storage, etc. It automatically transcodes the video if needed, and supports pretty much every video format under the sun, including MKV and Hi10p. At long last, we bring you our coverage of Anime Expo 2013. (Part 1 of 2) Fortunately, this time the delay was not caused by a hard drive crash. (After last year’s fiasco I learned my lesson; this time I made about five different backups of all our AX files.) However due to some audio glitches, editing this turned out to be harder than usual. Also I’ve just been incredibly busy, back on a job that requires 3+ hour bus commutes, and haven’t had a good solid block of time when I could sit down and record and edit. And of course there was the week or so I was out thanks to good old Con Crud. We managed to gas on for over 2 hours, so I’ll be turning this into a two-parter. In this first part we talk about our impressions of AX, what we saw and did, and what we liked (and didn’t like).
