The Incredible Podcast show

The Incredible Podcast

Summary: The Incredible Podcast of Amazing Awesomeness features two of the Internet's most popular podcast hosts. Unfortunately both of these hosts pulled out at the last minute and instead you are stuck with Mike Schramm and Turpster. Mike and Turps first started podcasting together on the hugely popular WoW Insider Show over at WoW.com. Now the two have taken their 'Odd Couple' relationship, which Turpster insists is purely platonic (on his part), to new heights with a show that is impossible to define but incredibly awesome!

Episode 108: The holiday rush | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Yes indeed, Turpster and Mike returned to the air this past weekend to record us a show, and you can watch and/or listen to it in its various forms above.  Turpster has been hard at work on Yogscast (more on that in a second), and Mike has been … well, hard at work partying during the holidays, which is why he wasn’t able to do the show last week. But the guys rally up and put a show together, just for you. Also, we answer your emails, so thanks for sending those in. If you have more, you can send those to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com. We really appreciate it! And we talk at length about some video games, including Peter Molyneux’s latest effort, Godus. It did get funded on Kickstarter, in case you were wondering, so the good news is that we’ll be able to play it at some point in the near future. Enjoy the show! We’ll probably be back next week, and we’ll definitely be back next Monday, because — well, just go look at the next post on the site. Ok here: We’re streaming live! Ok, now go look at the next post. At any rate, have a great week, and here’s hoping your holidays are the best! Drink some egg nog! Or don’t. Maybe you think it’s gross. Well here’s a nice holiday wish for you: Don’t drink anything you think is gross! Have a happy holidays!

Episode 107: Turpster goes to Sweden | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This past week on the podcast, we sat down and chatted about Turpster’s trip to Sweden, as well as the big releases lately of both Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Plus, both guys on the show had something to say about their visual looks: Turpster was proudly sporting a Tipoaa t-shirt, and Mike has a brand new haircut that he clearly didn’t pay very much for. There’s also some zombie/BlizzCon roleplaying, and Mike and T also chat about Thanksgiving, and the upcoming holidays. All in all, it’s a grand old time, especially for the price you pay, which is absolutely nothing. If you want to pay us, you can visit our sponsors (always appreciated), or just send us an email, at theshow@incrediblepodcast.com. We could definitely use some more emails, so if there’s something you want to know from us, or a question you’d like answered, or just a thought you want to share, feel free to pass it along, and you might even hear it on a future show! Tell us what you’re buying, or have already bought, on Black Friday. That’d be fun, right? Meanwhile, enjoy this show. Next week, we should be back on Sunday as usual (well, it hasn’t been very usual lately, but it should be on Sunday), and we might even have a guest! So stay tuned for that. Have a great Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating in America, and even if not, have a terrific and fun-filled week.

Episode 106: Halloween and Benediction | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Here it is! And by it, I mean another episode of The Incredible Podcast, featuring Mike Schramm and Turpster. In this episode, we talk about Halloween — Turpster spent his in Britain drinking, and Mike spent his in Hollywood California locked in a bar and scaring women while walking down the street. We also have a nice chat about Turpster’s upcoming trip to Sweden (oh la la — oh no wait, that’s France), and Mike shows off, for the first time ever, his brand new game jam-developed iPhone game, called Benediction. It’s coming soon to an App Store near you — for free! We also answer a few emails, including a question about Turpster’s favorite drink, and we talked about this wonderful YouTube video in which Yogscast’s Simon takes Turpster for a short ride. It’s very funny, so definitely go watch it. Like, right now. In fact, go leave a comment over on the video doing something like asking where Mike Schramm is or something like that. In the meantime, you can also watch our video above, or listen to the podcast over on iTunes. And you can follow this link to get yourself a free audiobook — it’s free and easy and you should do it, for us. Enjoy the show! Next week, Turpster will be “on holiday” (which means “on vacation”), so our show probably won’t be right away on Sunday. But we’ll do it at some point, so just be patient and enjoy the wait! Have a great week!

 Episode 105: Don’t call it a comeback | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Did you think we were dead!? Well you thought wrong… for now, at least. Nope, Mike and the T have just been busy, and this week they finally returned to the virtual airwaves to record themselves a podcast. As you can see in the video above (or listen to in the audio version), they haven’t podcasted since either the iPhone 5 or the Mists of Pandaria expansion came out, so they talk at length about both of those great releases and what they’ve been up to lately. Turpster talks about meeting Warwick Davis (who has an iOS app coming out himself, apparently), and Mike talks about Xenominer, which he’s been playing over on the video channel. Plus, the two answer your emails, and Mike recommends some really great Warhammer 40k books, if you’re into that sort of thing. Want to get a free audio book? Follow our link over to Audible.com, where you can pick up an audiobook with zero obligations for free! If you have a question or something you want us to talk about, please do send us an email at theshow@incrediblepodcast.com. We will presumably be back next week — Mike won’t be out of town again until January, and presumably The T won’t be completely drunk, but then again who knows? At any rate, stay tuned, and in the meantime, enjoy the show! ENJOY IT! Please. Thank you!

Episode 104, in two parts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Hey yo everybody! Many, many years ago, Mike and the T recorded episode 104 of this here podcast, but they only recently got around to uploading it right about now. In fact, this episode was so long ago we barely remember what’s in there. Mike talked about meeting Stan Lee, I think, and the T was caught in a picture behind the Yogscast crew. But whatever happens, we’re sure it’s a great show. Unfortunately, the YouTube recording down below accidentally crashed on us partway through, so you have to watch two different videos if you want to see the whole thing. But hopefully that’s not too much of a problem. Both are pretty funny. We think. Find out for yourself. If you have a question for the show, email it along to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com! And thanks for watching. What’s that? You want another episode? Well hang right on — we’ll have another one posted here in just two ticks of a lamb’s tail!

Episode 103 with guest Duncor | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Yes, as you can see above, it was such a bright week on the show this week that we had to wear some shades. Our good friend Duncor of Just Cool Enough stopped by, and he kindly shared some insight about how to make really great YouTube videos, what he’s been playing lately (mostly Darksiders 2, it sounds like), and also what he’s been doing in Los Angeles. Moving and improv, that’s what! The T and Mike also chat about what they’ve been playing, and then we answer some emails send in by listeners. Including a Kickstarter for a board game that has a fairly high goal, but sounds pretty cool. Do go over and contribute to it if you are interested! And if contributing is your thing, why not contribute your time and get yourself a free trial of Audible? Seriously, they’ve got tons of audiobooks available, and the trial is completely free. There’s no scam or anything — we’re honestly just trying to get you to sign up for the service (and you can quit right away) because they’ve promised to give us a little something back if you do. Just go over to this URL, sign up, and that’s it. Next week, we might be a little late — Mike will be at PAX all weekend, so we may need to record on Monday at some point (which is Labor Day in the US, if you hadn’t yet realized that). But stay tuned — we’ll have more videos and another show for you as soon as it’s all ready!

Episode 102 with guest Jason Horton | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We’re back! In this, our second week of video podcast, we welcomed famous and popular YouTube Jason Horton on to the show with us — you can listen to the mp3 of the show above, or tune in to the live video below: As you can see, we chatted with Jason about his various YouTube channels (all centered right over here, if you want to check them out, and you should), his Two White Guys Podcast, his views on improv and video comedy, and all of his other various talents and insights. Jason’s a hilarious dude, and thanks to him for joining us as our first-ever video guest! Mike and T also talked about what they’ve been playing lately, and how Gamescom went for Turpster last week in Germany. We also answered reader emails (send yours to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com), and Mike dispensed some fairly valuable advice about going to college. Plus, we have a new sponsor — if you haven’t yet signed up for the great Audible audiobooks service, please go sign up for a free trial at audiblepodcast.com/tipoaa, and Tipoaa will get a nice kickback. Sure, you may not need any audiobooks per se, but it’s a free trial, and we’d do the same for you. AND, here’s some more free content. Turpster and Mike watched the Mists of Pandaria cinematic together, and recorded some video of it with their insights on what’s going down in that trailer. How fun, right? Some people on YouTube complained that we were pausing the video as we talked about it, but a) there was a lot to say about the video, and b) if you just want to watch the trailer uninterrupted, it’s already posted on YouTube as is, right? Anyway, a lot of people have watched and liked that video, and we really appreciate that. There’s more video coming up this week, too — let’s just say Mike took to his kitchen to record a video version of one of Tipoaa’s greatest recurring segments. Stay tuned — if you want to get the video right away, please do go subscribe to our YouTube channel. Thanks for listening and watching!

Episode 101: The video show begins | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Yes, indeed ladies and gentlemen. This past Sunday, Tipoaa turned the biggest corner it’s seen since the show’s inception over a year ago: We’re now a video podcast. You can watch our very first official video episode RIGHT HERE: As you can see (!), Mike and the T chatted this week about their new technology, what games they’ve been playing lately, the end of the London Olympics, and everything else going on with them lately. If you have an email to send us (or want to send us a VIDEO INTRO — how cool is that? — you can send it along to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com. We’ll be back next week and (pretty much) every week, streaming live on Sunday on YouTube, and then posting the video of the show there and the audio here. In order to celebrate this new direction, let’s do a FAQ!   Video?!? Does this mean the audio podcast is gone forever? Of course not, crazy. You’ll still be able to get the audio on iTunes and here on incrediblepodcast.com as usual. That’s not going away — that’s never going away. We’ve just decided that it would be nice to have the shows on video, because a) YouTube has given us a pretty easy way to do it, and b) we can actually monetize a little bit on YouTube itself. More money is good for everybody. Plus, Ustream was starting to put random ads in our stream, and listeners were complaining. Now that we’re on YouTube, we won’t have to worry about those random ads, and it won’t cost us any more. Everybody wins! Plus, you’ll get to see our shining faces every week. But, if you’ve got videos going up on YouTube, that means you have a YouTube channel now, right? This is true! We do have a YouTube channel, and it’s right here. If you have a YouTube username (or a Google one), please head on over there and subscribe, thumbs up the videos, and do all of that fun social network stuff. Please share our videos wherever. Please put comments on them, and enjoy them, and just generally interact with them like crazy! The more exposure we get, the more listeners we get, the more we’re able to do with this show and with this channel! And yes — Turpster now works for Yogscast, and they have a little bit of experience with YouTube and video posting, so you will probably see more non-show videos popping up on that channel. Mike and Turpster shooting funny videos while they’re together in person? Yes! Mike and Turpster playing games like World of Warcraft, together or separately? Yes! Mike and Turpster commentating on videos that you send to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com? Yes! Mike and Turpster creating music videos, just like in the old days? Well, we don’t have any plans to do that, but hey why not. Maybe yes! What about the chat channel? This is a good question — YouTube has comments that serve as a chat during the livestream, but as a few listeners have told us, it’s not quite the same. So we’re not sure what we’ll do about chat just yet. We’ll always be able to chat with listeners during the show, so don’t worry about that. But we haven’t figured out whether we’ll stick with YouTube, or use some other chat service. We’ll see. I don’t have any more questions, I just wanted to say that this is awesome. Oh, will you have guests on, still? Thanks, it is awesome! And yes, we will have guests on occasionally (and we’ll do Tipoaa Pure occasionally, too). But when they’re on now, we’ll have them on video with us, so you’ll get to see their shining faces too. This video thing is great — it’s going to be good for the show, and you’ll love it as well. Thanks for listening and for supporting Tipoaa!

Episode 100, and the dawn of Tipoaa 2.0 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Yes, somehow over the past three (?!) or so years, Mike and Turpster have made it to 100 official episodes, and the show this past week is the result of that.  Truth be told, the anniversary kind of snuck up on us, but we did a few of the usual things, like reminiscing about past episodes, talking about our favorite moments, and dressing up in full celebration attire. That’s right, we dressed up for this one, and you can see it, because we recorded the whole thing ON VIDEO! That’s right — over on our Ustream channel, you can see our video from the show, with both Mike and The T on camera, smiling, and laughing, and having all kinds of fun. Now, one of the first things you’ll notice about that video is that it’s crammed with ads — that’s how Ustream does things, and there’s nothing we can do about that, unfortunately. We didn’t even know when they were coming, so we can’t take a break or anything. Also, the video is a little off, and Turpster isn’t always on with his mic there — that’s just a consequence of streaming the video all the way across the ocean and then out to Ustream, so that’s also unavoidable. Sorry about that. BUT, we learned some good things about streaming video during this last week’s podcast, and we are proud to announce that next week’s episode of Tipoaa will basically serve as The Incredible Podcast 2.0! If everything goes to plan, Tipoaa will now be A VIDEO PODCAST. That’s right, from now on, the plan is going to be to stream ourselves on video every single show, so not only will you be able to listen to us live, but you’ll also be able to watch us, both during and after the recording. The iTunes podcast is not going away, and neither is the regular mp3 recording, so even if you’re just listening to the show now, you’ll always be able to listen to it as normal. This is just extra — it’ll let you see what Mike and T are like when they record the show, and it’ll also let you see our guests when they come on, live and in action. How are we going to accomplish all of this? That’s a good question — we have a plan, but it may not work (this will probably give you a hint of what we’re planning to do, so  you can subscribe to that if you know what that’s all about). But rest assured that no matter what happens, Tipoaa will still be here. This is all just icing on the cake for you guys. Hopefully, it makes the show a little more fun, and comes with added benefit of earning us a little more money, which we can then put back into making content for the show. It’s the circle of Internet content! Anyway, stay tuned next week to see what Tipoaa 2.0 looks like, and in the meantime, enjoy show number 100. Exciting stuff! Thanks for listening!

Episode 99 with guest Jess Conditt | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This past week on the show, Mike and T had a nice chat with Joystiq’s own Jess Conditt! She’s just great, and you can tell from just listening to her on the podcast. Not only is she a quality Joystiq writer, but she’s also working on a new tumblr blog, featuring gif responses to various comments on the site — it’s called Dear Trolls and you can read through it right now. We also talk to Jess about her gaming background, her writing background, and what it’s like to live in Phoenix. It can’t be all that fun, can it? It’s Phoenix. Elsewhere on the show, we also talk about what we’ve been playing lately, what Turpster thinks of the Olympics currently going on in his backyard, and we answer your emails, which you can send any time to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com. If I remember correctly, Mike chooses some pretty salient emails to answer this week, so definitely tune in and listen to those. PLUS, here’s two big bits of news for you: Mike’s Antithesis update is out right now on the App Store! There are a lot of new features for the iPhone game, including iPad compatibility and a brand new feature called Themes, which let you change the look and audio of the game itself. One of the themes is the Tipoaa Theme, which means that when you play the game, there’s a special new look and a new original podcast from Mike and the T in the background. Definitely download the app and play through to the Tipoaa Theme. If you haven’t bought the app yet, it’s just 99 cents, and if you have already bought it, all you need to do is update it through the App Store app on your iOS device. Enjoy! And please leave a rating and review, too, especially if you like it. ALSO, next episode is our 100th episode! That means we’ll have to do some special stuff, including talk about the past 99 episodes, and whatever else we can think of (if you have suggestions, please email them to us). We will also be doing the show on video (as previously discussed), so that should be fun. And Mike and the T will probably dress up in some form or fashion, so that could be entertaining as well. We’ll do it live this Sunday morning (or evening if you live in Europe), so stop by the Ustream channel then if you want to see it. Meanwhile, enjoy the show!

Episode 98: Back in the seat | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

On this here podcast, Mike and the T chat about their lives lately — there’s a little bit of E3 convention talk, a little bit of games talk, and lots of chatting about, you know, this and that. Honestly, we recorded this one a while ago, so we don’t quite remember what’s on here. But it’s probably good, right? Probably. Oh wait — I think at one point we start throwing out some crazy ideas about Kickstarter and crowdfunding and traveling around the world as well. You might want to ignore that stuff, if you don’t care. Or maybe it works — let us know what you think. In the meantime, enjoy the show, because (yes we know), it’s the first one you’ve had in a while. Hope things are good with you! Mike and the T are leading some busy lives lately, and we should be recording this weekend, so you should have another show to hear soon. At any rate, be happy, do good work, and we’ll catch you on the flip side.

Episode 97 with guest Sarah McLean | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We’re back! After a short trip away while Turpster was at E3 and Mike was at WWDC, Tipoaa returns with our first guest in a while: The lovely Sarah McLean, creator and producer of 3 Strikes: The Series, a new web video series that just posted its pilot. It’s really good — think The Guild, but for softball instead of MMOs. Sarah’s also a talented improviser, so we talk about that, how she got into this web video thing, and the differences between softball, baseball, and cricket. The main difference is: No one actually understands cricket. Thanks so much to Sarah for coming on the show! If you want to watch the pilot of her series, it’s posted online right now, so you should probably do that! Also, she’s planning a screening in LA later on this year, and the full series is set to come out later this year as well. It’s very cool — definitely get in on the ground floor right now while you still can. In addition to chatting with Sarah, T and Mike also talk about their misadventures at E3, games they saw that they liked there, and a special rooftop party at which the T was in fact “ballin.” They lament that Mike won’t be at Nerdtacular this weekend (sorry all, but have fun!), and they chat about what they’ve been playing lately, specifically Pocket Planes. Seriously, everyone with an iPhone go play Pocket Planes, it’s great. We also answer your emails, and just generally have a good time trying to get back into the swing of things after being away for so long. Enjoy the show! T’s in Salt Lake City this weekend, so he might not be able to record (and Mike is headed off to New York a week later), but we’ll have a new episode as soon as we can make one. Thanks for your patience!

Episode 96: Talk time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Here’s another podcast! Featuring about an hour of Mike and Turpster chatting with each other about the latest news! In this episode, Mike and T talk about Torchlight 2, Diablo 3, and other video games. They also talk about Turpster filming funny stuff with Jaffa Cakes in it, and they even answer some emails from readers! Plus, there’s a contest going on, but you’ll have to listen to the show to see what it’s for and how to enter (hint: you enter by emailing in to theshow@incrediblepodcast.com, but you need to say something special, so do listen for that!). Enjoy the show, and we’ll be back on next week (assuming Mike and the T can pull themselves away from Diablo 3 — or if the servers go down YET AGAIN).

Episode 95: Back home | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

On this episode, Mike is back from Europe, and he and the T talk about the trip. They also chat about what Turpster’s been up to on the old Yogscast, and about the upcoming Diablo 3 and some other stuff as well! Don’t let that half-hearted description fool you — it’s quite a show! Enjoy it by listening above, or download away in iTunes.

Episode 94 : Schramming On a Jet Plane | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Mike has landed safely here in the UK (Or so I am guessing due to not having heard of any plane crashes or immigration detainees). This show details Schramm’s final preparations for his month long European voyage and Turpser’s incredible lack of knowledge about his homeland. Listen, enjoy and read the post above this one for all the details about the two TIPOAA meet ups for the UK TIPOAA Tribe! Send in your emails to the usual address (TheShow@IncrediblePodcast.com) Or phone us on 1-830-4-TURPS-4 (+1-830-4-88777-4). If you see a strange man in London, talking in a distant tongue; say hi to Mike!
