The course is task-led and based upon realistic situations, integrating speaking, listening, reading and writing to assist student development in those skills. It leads to the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic), an accepted qualification which is recognised on the Common European Framework (CEF) and, at the required level, for the purposes of the UK Border Agency (UKBA) English language visa requirements. EAP forms the core of our Higher Education Orientation Programme for students who wish to obtain success on an English-speaking university course. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) PTE Academic is a computer-based test which assesses the Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing abilities of non-native speakers of English who need to demonstrate their academic English capability in order to get acceptance onto LSBM programmes.  Switching Sponsor | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

International students in the UK must be sponsored to study a full-time course at a licensed institution listed on the UKBA register of sponsors, which can be viewed at: UKBA Tier 4 Sponsors List (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.go According to the UKBA, all registered sponsors must achieve the coveted Highly Trusted Sponsor (HTS) status by end of this year. After an initial application is made, students can start studying at their own risk until a decision is made by the UK Border Agency. In order to switch to a different sponsor, students must meet the normal Tier 4 requirements, and pay the standard fee. A detailed visa fact sheet is available on the following link: LSBM Visa Fact Sheet (http://www.lsbm.org.uk/PDfs/v My University has closed/lost its licence: what to do? Regardless if the institution has closed, or because their sponsor licence has been suspended or revoked, students must meet the normal Tier 4 requirements, and pay the standard fee UKBA fees. A detailed visa fact sheet is available on the following link: LSBM Visa Fact Sheet (http://www.lsbm.org.uk/PDfs/v Students affected by College/University closures must switch their Tier 4 Student visa to a recognised UKBA Highly Trusted Sponsor in order to complete their studies in the UK. If a student’s University/College has lost their ability to sponsor existing students in the middle of their studies, they can still transfer their credits thorough APL (Accreditation of Prior Learning) to another institute and still complete their qualification on time, as far as all other requirements are met, e.g. English language proficiency requirements. Such students must make arrangements to apply for a new Visa as their leave to remain in the UK would be curtailed to 60 days by the UK Border Agency. UKBA will write to the students informing them about the curtailment of their leave and advising them to switch to another sponsor or leave the UK. Support for London Metropolitan University students The withdrawal of London Metropolitan University's licence means that it is removed from the register of licensed sponsors, and students from outside the European Union are no longer allowed to study at the university. If an existing London Metropolitan University student with a current, valid visa is on holiday outside the UK, they can return to the UK. New students who were planning to travel to the UK to start studying with London Metropolitan University should not travel. London School of Business and Management has been granted Highly Trusted Sponsor (HTS) status from the UK Border Agency in March 2012 and went through successful auditing by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) with judgement of CONFIDENCE and RELIANCE in the management of academic standards and public information. London School of Business and Management has made special arrangements to accommodate displaced students from the London Metropolitan University or from any other University/College facing the same situation. Displaced students coming to London School of Business and Management and making an admission application will be allowed to do so through our dedicated Clearing process (Quicker admission process taking up to 48 hours only) and will be offered to pay the UK/EEA FEES. This means in the first academic year, every displaced international student will only pay the UK/EEA FEES, switching back to the international fees a year later. This decision was made considering the current situation of displaced students as they may not be ready to pay the full fees and apply for a new visa at the same time on a very short notice. If you are looking for an admission in order to complete your qualification started at an institution which can no longer sponsor you, please call the dedicated clearing line at 02070788844 or email APPLY ONLINE NOW (apply-online)
