The Lost Shepherd

Confounding The Wise show

Summary: The book of Amos is the most unique of prophets. Amos was not from a "religious" heritage. Amos was a lowly shepherd. Amos is a very prophetic message for today. All of the other Prophets (Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah) were churched Shepherds were not given permission to enter the temple grounds because they smelled like dirty sheep and were considered unclean. Shepherds were not educated on how to formally read or write. Amos was the first book of the prophets of the Bible. God used the uneducated, unworthy, unchurched, unpopular, as the first to speak against the corruption happening in the church during that day. The church of that day was refusing to acknowledge the truth that was happening all around them. The priests were giving blessings for cash.
