George Leidenheimer emigrated to New Orleans from Germany and founded his namesake bakery in 1896. Fourth generation family members Robert J. Whann, IV, ("Sandy") and sister, Katherine Whann, now oversee Leidenheimer Baking Co. and its time-honored recipes.
