Summary: Rick Pitino is one of the most successful coaches in the history of college basketball. He is the first coach to have taken three different schools (Providence, Kentucky and Louisville) to the NCAA Final Four and the first to win a NCAA Championship at two different schools (the last of which was later vacated). Coach Pitino was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. Prior to being named the head coach at Iona, Pitino was the head coach of Panathinaikos, one of the leading teams in the EuroLeague and has been named the head coach of the Greek National team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Pitino has served as head coach for the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Providence College, Boston University, Hawaii and the NBA's New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.
