Summary: The feeding of the 5000 is the only miracle recorded in all four Gospel accounts, and Jesus does something pretty fantastic in this passage. Not only does He give the people food that physically feeds and nourishes them, He also uses this sign to call them to something truly satisfying and soul-fulfilling, and that is to the Bread of Life, Jesus Himself.
