Thank them for supporting your EMS podcasting community.<br> —<br> EMS Tip of the Week: EMS 10 Awardees<br> First up in this week’s segments is a chat with EMS10 Awardee Rob Luckritz about his program to involve civilian first responders to improve EMS response times in parts of Jersey City, New Jersey. Using the initial response of over 100 volunteers, 49 were selected and graduated from the 60 hour training program. Each received a medical bag including oxygen, defibrillator, and tourniquets, as well as their own two-way radio to communicate their response to EMS calls in their vicinity. Here’s that segment with Rob.<br> Next up I talked with Christoph Redelsteiner, a paramedic and professor at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten, Austria. He is another of the EMS 10 Awardees who was recognized for his efforts to raise paramedic education to the bachelors degree level and beyond in Austria’s EMS education programs.
