Summary: On Nov. 17, Rabbi Michael Siegel was honored for his 30 years of service to Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago. Rabbi Siegel was ordained in 1982 by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he received his Master of Hebrew Letters. That year, he came to Anshe Emet as Assistant Rabbi, becoming Senior Rabbi in 1990. His current and past posts have included the Executive Council of the Rabbinical Assembly of America, the Chancellor’s Rabbinic Cabinet of the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Executive Board of Mazon: A Jewish Resource to Hunger, and the Hechsher Tzedek Commission. Siegel helped to form the Hayom Coalition, which is re-envisioning the Conservative Movement, he helped create the Synagogue Initiative of AIPAC, and he has represented the synagogue at the White House.
