Join us on the A Mile with Me - London Marathon special as we tell the history of the London Marathon and how the 26.2 mile distance came about in London, exactly 100 years ago. Hear the story of Dorando Pietri, who drank wine along the way and was still the first man over the line in the 1908 Olympic marathon. Also we are at the British Academy overlooking the finish line at The Mall and hear about the work of Oxfam in Liberia directly from Abraham, a local worker on the ground. We also hear a heart warming personal account of this year’s race from a lovely young lady called Alex, who ran through her tears to achieve the title of “Marathoner”!
