Simon Kalinowski from Mandalay Technologies In 2003, at age 24-years, serial entrepreneur Simon Kalinowski saw an opportunity buying Mandalay Technologies, an ailing company with cumulative losses of about $4 million dollars since inception. Simon began to turn the company around, concentrating on the culture, the people and the business model of the company, however success wasn’t immediate, with a failed product development nearly bringing down the company. Learning from those failures, Simon proceeded to invest heavily in building the right team and creating an even stronger organisational culture. Through Simon’s leadership, Mandalay has grown from strength to strength and is now Australia’s leading provider of weighbridge and data capture software servicing over 350 clients across Australia, NZ and South Africa. He also has an interest in three other companies across Finance, Media and Entertainment.
