We will hear releases from Canada, Scotland, the United States, Ukraine, Germany, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.Enjoy the show!To kick off the show, the August 20th release by Los Angeles artist Baywud. This artist never ceases to amaze me. Baywud’s vocals are both outstanding and unique. Love his sound.“Silver & Gold” is Baywud’s third single this year. With a modern rock vibe, the track takes you back to the timeless pop hits of the 70s. An uplifting, feel good summer release.“Silver & Gold” 1:39:36The artist was inspired by witness to a girl being bullied on social media. The song is about embracing your individuality, accepting our unique differences and to ignore the haters. Los Angeles producer Rune Westberg produced and mixed the single. The artist will debut an acoustic version Live at Hotel Cafe Writer's Block in Los Angeles on September 28th. Baywud will be back at Hotel Cafe for a full show on the main stage on Saturday, November 13th. His new EP will be released that same day. Second spin, August 13th drop “Free-Swimming” by Scotland artist Berta Kennedy. The lyrics narrate a strong-minded, powerful individual boasting self-confidence and dominance over someone/thing. I will share the unique nature of the track after we hear it. “Free Swimming” by Berta Kennedy.“Free Swimming” 7:12:48Fun fact - the song admires a ‘unique predator’, the jellyfish. This aquatic instrumental includes choppy electric guitar riffs and a 1950s doo-wop-meets-rock vocal. Free-Swimming is catchy and submerges its listeners into a different place. And now, an incredible track from Toronto, Canada. ANIQA DEAR is an experimental pop project. “Right/Wrong” is a dynamic and unique pop track. It explores disconnection and distance. Often we find ourselves in that ill-defined and in-between space.“Right/wrong” (Original Single) 10:45:60The track will be part of the project’s expected 3rd album, UK, Bristol band Polemics is next with their original single “Captain”. They take listeners on a stroll through a vision of a post-apocalyptic reality. The weight of human industry buries the historical footprint of the natural world.“Captain” (Original Single) 14:40:80From the song opening, you feel Zeppelin vibes. Guitar riffs and drums take us on an exploration of new world beliefs and feelings. Now, a change of pace. We are going to slow it down. “Fallen” by UK, Stroud artist Steven Reid Williams. The track released July 30. “Fallen” is the first drop (and hint) of what we can expect from Steven’s upcoming blues-inspired project, Heart and Stones.“Fallen” 19:21:12Next, an electronic rock, experimental track by Ukraine-based Dantus called “7NOVA”. (pronounced “Lova”)The challenges of love inspired the song. The song depicts a relationship between two lovers who have a tough time, as the love is not always mutual nor there.Sit back and enjoy “7NOVA”.“7NOVA” 23:51:84Next up a Brighton, U.K. band The Dryas. We continue with the relationship theme. The Dryas’ “Run” is an energetic track that reminds us of the uncomfortable feeling of chasing a relationship that is dead and gone. Hey, ya’ll, I am Shay, and this is thebuzzr after hours show. Episode 27. Independent music. Worldwide coverage. Welcome to buzzPLAY. We bring you emerging artists & their music from their local music scenes to your living room, man-cave, she-shed, or bachelor pad. You can tune in during commute from work or a couch chill out at end of the day. So pour yourself a glass of wine, open a beer, top up your tea or light a smoke! We will hear releases from Canada, the United States, Serbia and the United Kingdom. Enjoy the show! To kick off the show, the August 7th release by Ottawa, Canada rock band The Powergoats. “Northern Air”. A new little heartbreak track from the band’s upcoming album The Powergoats In 3D. “Northern Air” 1:28:80 ‘Northern Air’ is the third song released by The Powergoats this year. It is part of their upcoming album The Powergoats in 3D. It features only three band members on the track; Jamie Douglas (lead vocals, 12 string guitar, harmonica), Andrew Burns (bass, mandolin, keys, vocals), and Dee Butters (vocals). While the track won’t be available for standard digital distribution until the album’s release in October 16th, The Powergoats have leaked it onto their Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages for their keen fans. Second spin, “Best Friend” by New York City artist Ronnie Lott. Overall, it’s a banger track that has “hit” written all over it. A bit of Thank Me Later Drake-vibe in its delivery, yet the track is all its own. The song is about his goal to show his partner good things in the world. “Best Friend” 6:29:28 Texas-born Lott now lives in New York City. The artist dropped three bangers last year. This is his first single of 2021. His album should debut in the fall. Man, the vibe is intoxicating. An incredible hip-hop/R&B release. Now, “Something About Love” by UK band Truman Falls. This second single release from their future album, SILVERDALE. This is a wonderful continuation in sound scapes that the band began with their previous albums, LITTLE HAPPYHELLS and HEADSWIMS. “Something About Love” 9:55:68 Truman Falls are busy with live dates, radio & recording at the DAM studios on The Isle Of Man. Two complimentary tracks from instrumental artist The Meskimo are next. “The Vandal” is part one. In a cinematic thrust the antagonist comes upon some bad luck. Their pessimism is a heavy weight that is clouding their decision making. Add to that, their decision making is clouded over by the bad bad karma they’ve built for themselves. The ominous lurch of the song carries throughout until the end. “The Vandals” 13:47:04 Part two, “The Restoration” kicks off in a more positive tone. With the antagonist gone, pessimism is lost. “The Restoration” is a reminder to focus on the positive side of life, to be upbeat and carry the good vibes with you. “The Restoration” 17:11:52 While “The Vandal” plays in the chaotic, “The Restoration” reminds us that there is peace. The Meskimo is from the United States, creating music infused with rock, blues and psychedelic indie pop vibes. We follow The Meskimo with a track by alt-rock, new wave band Bones in Butter. The track “They Live!” is a sarcastic nod to the movie “They Live” with the message to never stop fighting oppression. Bones in Butter hail from Belgrade, Serbia. “They Live!" 21:56:64

Second spin, the July 2nd release by psychedelic indie pop rock band Beatnik. “Free Your Mind”. Classic funk and disco fans will love it, but also modern pop fans that dig Dua Lipa. “Free Your Mind” 5:34:64 This latest single is a psychedelic-funk filled ride finding love in unexpected places, and trying to resist those sensations. Great release! The band is from Logan, United States. Now, “24/7” by pop artist xs released July 24th. Currently creating in Singapore xs is a Malaysian singer-songwriter. She uses her platform to advocate for female empowerment and celebrating who you are. “24/7” 9:55:76 Debuting on the music scene this year, xs has released multiple singles and debut album Good Girls Don’t Speak Their Minds. Despite being a pop album, the music draw influences from jazz, Latin, country and electronic. An incredible lyricist that takes inspiration from her personal experiences. “Come Underneath My Covers” by United States artist The Meskimo released the track July 12th. It is a collab with Argentian guitarist Fernando Paul. Fernanda is responsible for the guitar playing. All other sounds are The Meskimo The title pretty much sums it up. What do you do with a lover underneath your covers? “Come Underneath My Covers” 14:05:04 The Meskimo is getting noticed and building a solid fan following. The music is infused with rock, blues and paychedelic indie pop nuances. We follow The Meskimo with a track by Lottie called “Lights Out”. ”Lights Out” is the first single to be released from her debut album. It’s an upbeat pop track, infused with piano elements and dance hall style drums. Lottie is based in Singapore yet hails from Essex, England. Her songs fall into the indie pop genre and are all voiced from a lesbian perspective. “Lights Out” 18:46:96 The lyrics lament about a troublesome relationship and depict the turbulent emotions of failing love.
