Parenting on Principle | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:34

In this thought-provoking episode, Marcus and Jen delve into the challenge of PARENTING ON PRINCIPLE. It's far more than relying on rules, regulations, and prescriptions. We discuss preparing our children for the path, not the path for our children. This refreshing approach shifts the focus from an attempt to control every aspect of our child's life, toward surrender and service--becoming their mentor and coach. We explore three key concepts essential to this parenting paradigm: 1. Point Your Child to a Relationship with Jesus: Guide your child towards a personal and meaningful connection with God. Life's foundation--the ROCK--is found in Him. Begin first by helping them develop a deep, intrinsic understanding of who they are in Christ. 2. Model a Life on the Rock: As parents, we lead by example. We discuss the significance of modeling the values and principles we wish to impart to our children. By living our lives on the Rock of Jesus Christ, we give them an example to follow. 3. Teach Your Child How to Think: Rather than feeding them a list of rules, coach them with the building blocks of how to make good decisions. This involves asking good questions, and developing critical thinking skills they can apply an any situation. Encouraging them to question, analyze, and make informed decisions fosters independence and resilience. By embracing these principles, parents can raise thoughtful, Jesus-first children who can navigate life's challenges with confidence. Join us in this exploration of parenting grounded in values, and learn how to release control, becoming the ultimate coach in your child's life. It's a transformative approach that can leave a lasting legacy of wisdom, character, and faith. =============== NEW BOOK from JEN JONES NOW AVAILABLE: "Divinely Different: Creating a Significant Life When the Way is Unexpected, Unwanted and Unknown" Get it on Amazon: a.co/d/3KeZoUB This episode is brought to you by JenJonesDirect.com, where we help you level-up in your faith, your family and your whole health.  Free and Fully Alive (with Guest Author, Karrie Garcia) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:48

In this episode, guest author Karrie Garcia, talks about her new book, "Free and Fully Alive." She and Jen discuss engaging the body. This is holy work to tend to our bodies. She shares how and why It’s time to take back our bodies. Not just to bring to a state of physical health but to honor all of its workings. To listen to it and offer it the space it needs to rest and heal. It's crazy (but also not one bit surprising) that God called both Karrie and Jen on similar journeys of obedience through the launching of their books. We didn't plan to do this, but God plucked us out and reminded us that we had a story to tell...stories that point right back to Him and the work he's done in both of our lives. As Karrie shared...following Christ isn't about a life of sacrifice. It's definitely not about accolades. It's about To reclaim who you were created to be. And the beauty of Christ-like obedience is that it leads to life that is fully alive!  Beyond Closed Doors: How to Hear God's Voice in Life's Transitions | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:01

How do you take steps of boldness when doors unexpectedly close? How do we trust God? How do we hear Him? These are the questions Jen tackles with special guest, Elyse Murphy (@elyse). Elyse is a writer, speaker, and influencer who is committed to using her platform to have authentic conversations and help women shake off shame and step into their God-given light. She’s an over-sharer and a people pleaser and will probably get distracted mid-conversation, but she’s doing her best to live a healthy life (body, soul, and spirit) and point them to Jesus... And she’s ok if that’s a little bit messy. In fact, she kind of likes it messy. Elyse has written devotionals such as “For God So Loved” and “Into The New,” along with many others, and is obsessed with breaking down spiritual truths in simple and relatable ways. In 2021, she co-founded ClubDevotion with her best friend Katy Knox, because they decided to create what they couldn’t find -- a place where biblical faith and best friends meet. ClubDevotion is a global community of women who are committed to living a lifestyle of devotion, and the membership includes regular meetings, monthly devotionals (written by Elyse), weekly live coaching calls, daily voice prompts, and more… But it’s more than a membership. It’s a movement of women who are ready to find their feet and use their voice, just like God intended. Elyse also coaches women on a regular basis, and it led her to create Breakthrough Bootcamp -- a six week program for women to get unstuck, shake off shame, and go deeper with God. Enrollments for the Fall 2022 intake are opening soon. As she’s continued to do what she’s always done, inspire people in their life and challenge them in their faith, her influence has expanded into faith-based media. She is the co-producer and host of “On A Lighter Note” with Lightworkers, and works with media outlets to create content that will help people find hope and have honest conversations about faith, health, and relationships. =============== NEW BOOK from JEN JONES NOW AVAILABLE: "Divinely Different: Creating a Significant Life When the Way is Unexpected, Unwanted and Unknown" Get it on Amazon: https://a.co/d/3KeZoUB This episode is brought to you by JenandMarcusJones.com, where we help you level-up in your faith, your family and your whole health.
