Monsieur Valdemar desperately seeks the expertise of a medical hypnotist for the sake of his dying wife Maria... and the rather eccentric Dr. Foissant answers the call with dramatic results. Even though his license has been revoked Dr Foissant has been perfecting his techniques and now with the added opportunity to prove his abilities to his peers and seemingly prolong the life of Maria Valdemar indefinitely he eagerly performs his art. Although unable to physically recover from her illness it appears Maria's hypnotized spirit lives on... but it seems this life is not one of peace but one of purgatory! With a once again desperate Monsieur Valdemar begging his assistance Dr Foissant is now compelled to try to bring Maria from this apparently hellish trance. Franchesca is of low birth yet Donaldo the governor of the island fell madly in love and showered her with gifts in her favored silver. Ferdinand the silversmith is a master craftsman who's work, it seems, embodies a strange lifelike quality...for this becomes the strange whimsy of beautiful Franchesca. Weird Circle tells the tale this week of The Mysterious Bride. It's 1777 and Alan Sanderson, Laird of Birkendelly spies a beautiful woman alone on a country lane yet cannot find her as he reaches the turn in the road. A friend further up the road confesses that he saw no such woman even though he should have run right into her. The Laird finds himself bewitched by this enchanting vision who it seems has been visiting his dreams for some time.
