Cthulhu's Den show

Cthulhu's Den

Summary: We are a group of friends who enjoy playing tabletop games and always have a blast doing so. With that in mind, we decided to share our love of Dungeons and Dragons and the laughter while playing with the world and start a podcast. New episodes every Friday.  G.o.S. Finally, No One Died (Kind of) | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 02:28:22

This week, our severely reduced party of adventurers (yay adulting) rescues a woman who was captured by the big bad of the mansion who helps the party finish clearing out the mansion (yay NPC help).  The party delves deep below the mansion, finds and manages to beat the aforementioned big bad and finally clear out this godforsaken hellhole of a mansion.....they'll probably need to come up with a better description for the sales ad.  Upon returning to town, the party agrees to take on a new quest for the town: finding smugglers or pirates or whatever they were and stopping them,  the details don't matter the important part is the party gets to try and commandeer a ship.

 G.o.S. Extreme Renovations | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 02:59:08

This week, our heroes delve further into the spooky mansion, where they encounter just a completely out of control pest problem, like seriously just the worst.  We say goodbye to another character and hello to two more.   Zack and Zander come up with a new real estate scheme that could be a new career path for them if the whole actual adventuring thing doesn't pan out for them.

 G.o.S. Knocking on Death's Door | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 03:25:08

This week, we actually start Ghosts of Saltmarsh and meet our new heroes, who are ready to tackle a haunted mansion in Saltmarsh (or so they think).  After a brief encounter with some giant weasels (stopping and smelling the roses was a baaaad choice), the survivors regroup in the village and meet some more adventurers ready to tackle said haunted mansion.  This new party actually makes it inside and after some quick exploring, they run into some bandits beneath a hidden trap door.  A battle quickly ensues and just as things seem to be going the way of the weasels, Velkyn makes a noble sacrifice to trade his life for that of his party members (because it made a very tidy way to excuse Chase while he's off playing around in basic).

Apology Episode: Fireside Chat | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 01:01:51

So because technology hates me, the new episode of Cthulhu's Den refuses to upload correctly so here's a fireside chat to tide you over til I can beat the other episode into submission. Hope you enjoy.

Gigbuldihr: You All Meet in a Tavern | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:06

This week, as we finish up preparations to start Ghosts of Saltmarsh, we're giving you a sneak peek of Gigbuldihr, the Homebrew world being created specifically for this podcast. Our players (those that made it) introduce their characters and promptly end up fighting some kobolds (I'm feeling some lingering resentment towards Shi'Thead there).

 P.o.t.A. Apocalypse Who | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:31:25

This week our heroes wrap up the fire temple...and subsequently Princes of the Apocalypse. The adventures finally pass the second room and encounter some salamanders and azer that are apparently captives. They free them, find a secret door and while searching for an important meeting discover instead Aerisi, some upper level fire cultists and a Chimera (purely because they heard there was a big thing guarding something and Rhogar wanted to pet). They make surprisingly short work of these baddies and head out of the temple and into our memories.

 P.o.t.A. Krispy Kobold Kebab | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:35:36

This week our heroes make it past the 2nd room of the the fire temple....kind of. Shi'Thead learns that fire is not his friend and Arthur, trying to help, inadvertently traps him in an endless cycle of horrible fire deaths (at least we think it was inadvertent). Rhogar rejoins the party and after they rest and regroup, they attempt the evil room of kobold fire death again....with slightly better results. (At least without the repeated deaths of Shi'Thead).

 P.o.t.A. Neutralizing the Fire Cult | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 02:04:51

Thargok is finally back this week and finds Arthur in his post celestial nuclear explosion exhaustion.  The adventurers discover how to destroy the glowing orb of death (or as Rhogar thinks of it, the worst magic 8 ball ever).  Armed with this new knowledge (and cause our DM has figured out how to make us go where he wants us to), the party sets off to take on the fire cult in their home base (insert some reference to walking into Mordor here).  They arrive at the fire temple and begin their trek to destroy the glowing magic 8 ball of death.

 P.o.t.A. Pudding and Fiery Doom | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 03:37:29

And we're back on to our regularly scheduled mayhem....I mean adventure.  The slightly reduced party (yes, we're back to that) fought a delicious-sounding creature. Then they head off towards Red Larch (seriously, we don't go a lot of places) and barely manage to prevent a massive explosion that would have wiped that town off the map (which in the hero scale of things is a good thing but in the meta scheme of things maybe it would have been better to let it go away so we would stop going to this damned place).  Finally, as Rhogar and Elghast are nearing death, Arthur's power level goes over 9000 and manages to save the day.

Interlude: Fireside Chats | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:42

Due to the busy busy-ness of our DM, this week we're giving you a preview of our new podcast in the works: Fireside Chats with Chase and Connor, where we chat about random nerd things of various topics. Obviously the first episode had to be on D&D so hopefully you all enjoy this.

 P.o.t.A. Headaches, Snacks....and a Demon? | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 01:43:39

This week, our adventurers make it past the third room of the Black Earth Temple.  They deal with the worst housekeeping staff ever and enjoy a meal with the cultists (no innuendo, pun, etc. they legit have a nice, relaxing meal without murdering anyone, surprising I know).  Then, our heroes decide to deal with the leader of the cult, but after stumbling around blindly a bit ( Oh hey! look at you, ground.), they discover that Marlos pulled the ol' switcharoo on them and have to fight a Shadow Demon in his stead.

 P.o.t.A. Rock, Paper, Eldritch Blast! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:20:22

This week our almost full party of adventurers (about time too) head back into the Temple of Black Earth. They go farther than they ever have before, which wasn't hard since they barely made it into the Temple proper previously.....and are only like three rooms in this time, but hey progress!

 P.o.t.A. Frogs, Lore, and Treasure | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:42:32

Our very diminished party of adventurers (I swear we'll figure this out again) continue delving into the Crushing Wave cult's temple. Either through their own miraculous talents (or through the DM's mercy), they manage to clear the temple and without the murder hobos around actually learn things. Oh and they get a decent share of loot for once. (I think that covers everything but the "Frogs" part of the episode title.)

 Interlude:A Fireside Chat with Elgast | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:32:45

Due to everyone apparently being busy we were unable to proceed with the campaign this week so instead we hope you enjoy this chat between our D.M. Chase and Nick (Mr. Grant if you're nasty) who plays Elgast. They reminisce about their favorite encounters, both in this campaign and previous ones. Hopefully we'll be back with our regularly scheduled programming next week.

P.o.t.A. Salty As She is Sweet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:02:56

This week it's shopping...part 2! Then Riverguard Keep....part 2! Our heroes face off against some ghouls and something freaky goes down with with a sea hag..... allegedly. All this and maybe more as the delve into the place everyone hates.....the water temple.....wait wrong game....but it's still technically a water temple.....and we probably hate it.
