From avoiding suicide to tapping into the feelings of others with Deneen Joyner | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:47

My parents used 2 different contraceptives to avoid having a 7th child, I came anyway, lol! I am what is called a divine birth. From the final push from my mother's womb into this world, I never felt like I belonged. I am the black sheep in my family and the outcast in the world, I never fit in despite attempting to give up my identity to try to.    I became aware that I was "different" when I was 5 years old because I began to tap into having the access to other's people's feelings and thoughts that surrounded emotional pain and trauma.   I was a very wise soul and knew that I should not share these abilities for fear of not being believed and also possibly being sent somewhere far from my family.  I learned how to disconnect from not only my feelings but those around me.  At the age of 7, my father abandoned me and my 6 sisters and never looked back.   We suffered severely emotionally and financially and because of this, I developed a father wound that followed me into my relationships with men, myself, and money.  My life later would magnetize events, soul lessons, that had I been consciously aware of their purpose, I would have known they were there to help heal me and clear my soul. However, I did not have that awareness and continued to experience great depths of pain and trauma for nearly 40 years until I hit rock bottom and awakened.   At the age of 47, I was left with, doing what I had helped and guided others to do in my 18-year career in social work, examine their lives, look for patterns and face the pain.  My journey towards healing led me to examine family karma and the DNA of emotional pain along with my being a Black Indian woman and my ancestry surrounding having the blood of 2 distinct cultures, Native American and Nigerian and also finally understanding the spiritual gifts that I once ran from.  Not only did I arrive at my healing with God's grace and guidance but I discovered that my healing activated fulfilling an ancient soul contract linked to my great-great grandmother Lucinda Starflower 1872-1892 who was a Shaman but had died at the age of 20 years old.   Through my mother Rose the matriarch and storyteller of our family, I leaned in and listened again to the stories that I grew up on but this time with eagerness and attention.  It has been 6 years since my healing using the channeled messages from my ancestors that were sent to me, today I proudly step forth to use all my personal and professional experiences along with my education and gifts to guide and empower women towards using all of who they are to bring their light in serving the world in a unique way!    FIND DENEEN HERE: website: www.deneenjoyner.com Instagram: Deneen Joyner Facebook: Deneen Joyner Facebook: Choose to be empowered --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-naked-podcaster/message

Physical, emotional, and sexual traumas healed with therapy and Feng Shui - with Laura Staley | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:31

Laura Staley: A mom with a borderline personality disorder, Laura endured physical, emotional, and sexual traumas growing up, but with therapy and gifted body healers and teaching people Feng Shui in your life.   I grew up with many tortured soul adults including my mother who suffered from undiagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder (think Mommie Dearest or August Osage County-movies). I happened to be the one split "all bad." by my mother. I endured physical, emotional, and sexual traumas (the sexual ones that happened outside of my parent's home) that continued into my adulthood.  During graduate school, I finally broke my silence with the first of many therapists/gifted body healers. I continued my multi-dimensional healing journey by reading gobs of books by Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Esther Hicks, Eckhart Tolle,  and so many others, attending transformational trainings, joining a yoga class for a decade, breaking free from my family of origin, practicing gratitude, practicing and sharing feng shui, creating Cherish Your World, writing, running, swimming, biking, dancing, ending my second marriage, taking actions to save the life of my teen son, loving both my son and daughter and finally moving to Black Mountain, NC in June of 2018.    In the mountains, I continue to experience deep safety, exceptional love with a man I met when we were in Ohio, and discovering a richer, multi-dimensional, freer voice in my writing of essays, poetry, and in my body as I learn to belly dance! The self-discovery journey continues to be rich with blessings. I have created a beautiful relationship with my Inner Fly on the Wall that seems to have grown to spider size-like Charlotte from the children's book, Charlotte's Web. I embrace with tenderness, deep compassion all my inner children and teenagers. I regularly listen from a deep well of quiet,  love, and grace.    FIND HER HERE: www.cherishyourworld.com www.loveyourspaceloveyourlife.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurastaley1/   https://www.facebook.com/laurastaleycherish https://www.instagram.com/cherishyourworld/channel/?hl=en YouTube Cherish Your World --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-naked-podcaster/message

A dad who was a bank robber to writing while being a long-haul Ice Road Trucker with MJ Preston | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:02:24

He discusses what it was like growing up with a dad who was a bank robber, knowing his dad tried to murder his Mom, going to school under an assumed name, marrying his love of and becoming a long-haul truck driver including on the worlds longest ice road where he wrote some of his best-selling books in his mind  While I am in a pretty good place, I do look back on a childhood where my father was a wanted bank robber, and both my brother and I had to attend school under an assumed name. Sanity ensued when my mother sent us kids to go stay with an aunt and uncle while she tried to forge a new future with a new man who would step in as stepfather. My father's reaction to this was to kidnap my mother and her boyfriend with the intention of killing them. This was interrupted by a police takedown that would result in a 10-year conviction for armed robbery. With my father incarcerated, my mom moved across the country to a new life and sent for us kids.  We grew up with little. By the time I decided I wanted to get a degree in writing there was no money or support available. Alternately, I met a young woman, at the age of 18. That changed my course and focus. Having a little boy, I decided I need a career, so I enlisted in the military and worked on writing as a sideline.  I served 12 years in the military, was medically released after enduring three leg operations, and went through a pretty rough transition from soldier to civilian. By this time I was a husband and father of three boys. My wife and I did the best we could, and eventually, I signed up to get my transport truck license. I trucked all over Canada and the USA. All the while I began work on finishing my first novel. Much of written on the steering wheel of a transport truck.  I published my horror novel, The Equinox, independently in 2012 and had no plan of writing another, until I was invited to run the world's longest ice road. I went from Long Haul to Ice Road Trucker. In Canada's Northwest Territories, between February and April, thousands of trucks drive over giant frozen lakes to resupply diamonds mines just below the Arctic Circle. These much-needed supplies have to carry them for the year. As I drove this majestic landscape, the cracking and popping ice beneath my wheels, I was mesmerized by a night sky painted with twisting curtains of the northern lights. The ice glistened lit the way in brilliant hues of green and red and even blue. Across this 18 hour trek. wold packs ran alongside me. Wolverines watched in wait and ravens ruled the track. All the while I was pumping that first novel with fellow ice road trucker, while I found my inspiration for my second novel, Acadia Event. I published that the next year, also independent, and then I got down to work on my third book, Highwayman. Highwayman is about a serial killer with one ambition. To be the most infamous killer of all time. This fictional story was born out of three years of research and the story spans two books. Highwayman and FOUR. Both were picked up by WildBlue Press and as an added bonus, they also asked for my two independent novels.  So here I am, 55 years old, having written four books and a fifth in progress, I can say that I am an author. I don't know how long I will keep writing, likely until the well runs dry or life winds down. But here we are.  FIND MJ HERE: Website: http://mjpreston.net Amazon Page: https://www.amazon.com/MJ-Preston/e/B005JTQMZY Publisher Page: https://wildbluepress.com/mj-preston-author-bio/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-naked-podcaster/message

From 37 Devastating Rejections to Best-Selling Author On Book 8 - Dwayne Claydon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 54:50

Why Write  The reason I write goes way back to my childhood. My earliest memories are of my mother reading to me. When I could read on my own, I devoured the Hardy Boys series. When I was about ten, when my reading material was getting low, I’d take the bus from our house to Kensington used bookstore. I graduated from the Hardy Boys to Ellery Queen, Earl Stanley Gardner, and Agatha Christie. In high school, I loved writing reports in social studies class and in English class I wrote satire. Saturday Night Live stuff, except this was before SNL!  Then career got in the way, but I co-authored four paramedic textbooks. In 2010, I was going through a major life change. One morning in October, I was showering and had an epiphany. I needed to write fiction. I Googled writing classes and one started the next week. The first piece I wrote and submitted to the instructor and classmates, everyone liked. For the next four years, I took writing classes pretty much non-stop.  There was one point where I received feedback that devastated me. After giving a great pitch, I was asked to submit the CRISIS POINT manuscript. I excitedly opened the email with the review. The primary comment was, “It’s like a police show is on the TV in the other room, and I don’t care.” I set the manuscript aside for about three months. Thankfully, I signed up for another writing class and set to improving the novel.  In 2015, I submitted CRISIS POINT to the Crime Writers of Canada Arthur Ellis awards for the best-unpublished novel. Then my name was called as a finalist. There is no other word. I was Gobsmacked! Instead of wine, I celebrated with Whisky! I attended the Crime Writers of Canada Awards in Toronto at the end of May. It was like the Academy Awards of Writing. I didn’t win the award, and I was disappointed. But heck, making the finals was great. As she was leaving, the agent gave me her card and asked for my manuscript.  I received thirty-seven responses—rejections. That was a gut punch.  By now I had spent almost seven years on Crisis Point. I also admit that my biological writing clock was ticking.  In April 2018, CRISIS POINT was launched and was a best seller in Calgary. There is immense satisfaction in holding your novel in print for the first time.   OUTLAWMC launched in March 2019. Wolfman is Back launched in November 2019. SPEARGRASS—OPIOID launched in September 2020. Novels five and six are written.  13 DAYS OF TERROR will launch in November 2020 and Goddess of Justice in March 2021.  Today, October 13, 2020, I am halfway through writing my seventh novel and 10,000 words into my eighth.  I admit to being obsessed. I write every day. When I started writing in 2010, it was a struggle to write 500 words in a day. Now, 2500-3000 in a day is not unusual, and I have had days of over 6,000 words. I have a schedule with my editor until the end of 2023. The deadlines are important to keep me on track.    FIND DWAYNE: dwayneclayden@mail.com www.  Addiction, Having A Child, His Ex-Wife and Starting Over with Robb Kelly | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:38

Dr. Robb and I discuss addiction, falling on his daughter, stabbing his wife, 6 suicide attempts - two of which he was brought back to life, and how he not only got through it but thrived and dedicated his life to helping others. He helps because he's been there.    Dr. Robb Kelly is a world-renowned addiction consultant who believes in treating the problem of addiction, not the symptoms. He has worked for many years helping addicts and alcoholics to RECOVER their lives from the disease of addiction. Based on his own experiences working with addicts and alcoholics over the last 20 years, a Ph.D. in Psychology from Oxford University, and as a recovered alcoholic himself – he is a triple threat against the disease of addiction. Dr. Kelly was the CEO of a thriving telecommunications company when the walls came crashing down on him due to alcoholism. He ended up homeless and broken on the streets of Manchester, England until he found the courage to save himself.   Dr. Kelly is currently the CEO of the Robb Kelly Recovery Group, an addiction recovery coaching company he created based on extensive research and behaviour studies that he conducted over the last 20 years. Dr. Kelly’s methods may seem unconventional and unorthodox leading some people to refer to him as "The Gordon Ramsay of the Addiction World" because of his direct, no-nonsense, and candid approach to treating addiction.   FIND ROBB: www.robbkelly.com www.facebook.com/drrobbkelly twitter.com/RobbKellyGroup linkedin.com/in/dr-robb-kelly-07718133 www.instagram.com/drrobbkelly/   CONNECT WITH ME!  She rides her horse across the country for domestic violence with Meredith Cherry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 57:11

I was in an extremely abusive marriage for almost a decade. After a very difficult escape (I was living in a very remote location and isolated from everyone else), I then had to go through several more years of legal help before I was free of him.    To help others and for my own healing, I decided to buy a horse (a lifelong dream) and ride to all the lower 48 states to raise awareness about domestic violence. I started out on Jan1 if 2017 with horse Apollo.  Her Dad is Vincent Price, she's a nomad with Victoria Price | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:03

I am an expert on co-creating heart-centered practices that can shift us out of fear and into living Love. I have lost everything more than once. Money. Jobs. Homes. Relationships. Stuff. My heart. My soul. My sense of self-worth.  It was a big problem. And that was the big problem. I saw myself as having a big problem that I had to fix. And I hated myself for never being able to fix it. It wasn’t until I began creating a daily practice of joy that things shifted. In fact, things didn’t shift. They transformed. Everything transformed. And I discovered the transformational power of heart-centered practice. Heart-centered practice realigns us with the Power of Love. The Love that can erase fear, transform problems into practice. The Love that can get us out of our messed-up heads and into our healing hearts. The Love that can heal us and our world!    FIND HER HERE: www.victoriaprice.com @imvictoriaprice FB/Insta/Twitter --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-naked-podcaster/message

 Jersey-Shore Adult-Thriller Author, with Kristina Rienzi | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:12

Three things that have changed me in recent years: losing my mom (2015); Certified Professional Coach training (2018); Having my (surprise!) baby girl (2019).   Author details: I always wrote short stories, starting with winning an award for a short horror story in the fifth grade, but I didn't start writing seriously until I got the bug to write a novel in 2010. After many drafts, deletions, and tears, my debut novel, Choosing Evil was purchased by a small press publisher, Frost Books in 2014. Frost Books also published its sequel, Breaking Evil. However, by 2017 I was ready to take my rights back, which I did. I published those two books, as well as the rest of my books - Winter Road, Luring Shadows, Twisted and Among Us, under my own publishing company, Indigo Hawk Group.   Author Bio: Kristina Rienzi is a Jersey Shore-based new adult thriller author, certified professional coach, and the former president of Sisters in Crime-Central Jersey. An INFJ who dreams beyond big, Kristina encourages others (and herself) to embrace the unknown through her stories. When she's not writing or drinking wine, Kristina is spoiling her baby girl (and two fur-babies), dissecting true crime stories, singing (and dancing) to Yacht Rock Radio, or rooting for the WVU Mountaineers. She believes in all things paranormal, a closet full of designer bags, weekly manicures, the Law of Attraction, aliens, angels, and the value of a graduate degree in psychology. Her debut audiobook, Among Us was featured on Audible’s ACX University and is an Audible Editors Select pick.   Day Job Bio: Kristina Rienzi has been employed in a Human Resources leadership position for almost twenty years, and currently serves the Senior Director of Human Resources and Publishing for a mid-sized telecom service organization.  Kristina Rienzi earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and sociology/anthropology from West Virginia University; a Master of Arts degree in psychological counseling from Monmouth University; a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI); a SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM); and the Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership Index-Master Practitioner (ELI_MP) designations from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). Always looking to grow and improve, Kristina is currently pursuing a certificate in The Science of Well Being from Yale University, a certification in Happiness Studies from the Happiness Studies Academy (derived from a Harvard University Professor in conjunction with iPEC), and a certificate in Brene Brown's Dare to Lead Program.   FIND HER: https://kristinarienzi.com https://facebook.com/KristinaRienziAuthor https://instagram.com/KristinaRienzi https://twitter.com/KristinaRienzi   CONNECT WITH ME!  Stripping With My Daughters, Kezia & Alana Talk About Their Suicide Attempts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:37:13

Crisis Resources: https://www.nami.org/get-involved/awareness-events/suicide-prevention-awareness-month  If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (8255)  If you’re uncomfortable talking on the phone, you can also text NAMI to 741-741 to be connected to a free, trained crisis counselor on the Crisis Text Line. While suicide prevention is important to address year-round, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month provides a dedicated time to come together with collective passion and strength around a difficult topic. The truth is, we can all benefit from honest conversations about mental health conditions and suicide, because just one conversation can change a life.  Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues. Every year thousands of individuals die by suicide, leaving behind their friends and family members to navigate the tragedy of loss. In many cases, friends and families affected by a suicide loss (often called “suicide loss survivors”) are left in the dark. Too often the feelings of shame and stigma prevent them from talking openly.  September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—a time to share resources and stories in an effort to shed light on this highly taboo and stigmatized topic. We use this month to reach out to those affected by suicide, raise awareness and connect individuals with suicidal ideation to treatment services. It is also important to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention. NAMI is here to help. CONNECT WITH ME!
