 S2 E20 - Reading Dispatched | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:09

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait cram in an episode between two winnable Cup ties. The first saw Manchester United dispatch Reading with ease, a 4-0 victory at Old Trafford. The second comes on Tuesday in the EFL Cup semi-final against Hull City. While paying praise to Wayne Rooney after the Englishman equalled Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record at Manchester United, Marcus Rashford is also discussed after his brace. Even Marouane Fellaini draws praise. As always there’s an extensive youth and loan round-up as Kieran McKenna’s took an under-19 side to Germany for the Sparkasse&VGH Cup. United won the tournament after midfielder Callum Whelan saved two penalties in the final of the 5-a-side competition. Find us on Twitter: Harry Robinson Jack Tait Podcast Enjoy the show!  S2 E19 - Happy Birthday to us | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:50

Harry Robinson and Jack Tait discuss a pair of wins either side of New Year's Day on the one-year anniversary of this podcast. Apart from thanking you for your immense support over the past you, we discuss a satisfying, brilliant comeback against Middlesbrough amidst a terrible refereeing performance. 2017 brought no difference as Mike Dean unsurprisingly stole the show at the awful London Stadium as Manchester United beat ten-man West Ham 2-0. As always we've got an extensive youth and loan round-up with difficulties for Jose Mourinho in the youth goalkeeping department with Sam Johnstone set to join Aston Villa on loan.  S2 E15 - Frustrated at frustration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:28:07

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait try and fail to describe a 1-1 draw to [insert team name here] in another way that isn’t frustrating. Oh, hold on, that’s just the new template for our show’s description. This week it was West Ham United at home. Hold on, that was last week, wasn’t it? This week it was Everton away at Goodison Park. They also talk about the positives of a generally good, but, erm, frustrating week at Old Trafford. (That was from last week, too…) As always, there is a comprehensive youth and loan round-up as the under-18s drew 2-2 in an exciting game at home to Manchester City while the under-15s were in action in the MTU Hallencup.  S2 E14 - Water Bottles | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:27:43

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait try and fail to describe a 1-1 draw at home to [insert team name here] in another way that isn’t frustrating. Oh, hold on, that’s just the new template for our show’s description. This week it was [West Ham United] at home. They also talk about the positives of a generally good, but, erm, frustrating week at Old Trafford. It wouldn’t be a Manchester United discussion without something on Paul Pogba so, of course, the Frenchman comes up. Looking further back, United beat Feyenoord 4-0 with a wonderful performance from Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is praised, as are Daley Blind and Michael Carrick. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has been charged for kicking a water bottle and apparently is not seen differently to other managers by the FA… ahem. As always, there is a comprehensive youth and loan round-up as the under-18s score four again and the under-23s draw 2-2 vs Reading.  S2 E13 - Frustration at home.... again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:24:03

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait try and fail to describe a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal in another way that isn’t frustrating. They also talk about the positives of a generally good, but, erm, frustrating, performance at Old Trafford. It wouldn’t be a Manchester United discussion without something on Paul Pogba so, of course, the Frenchman comes up. Looking ahead, United face Feyenoord on Thursday before West Ham in the league on Sunday. As always, there is a comprehensive youth and loan round-up with Callum Gribbin scoring a hattrick for the under-18s in a 3-3 draw at Liverpool this weekend.  S2 E12 - We should have scored 20, we scored none | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:36

 S2 E11 - Hammered at Chelsea | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:37:02

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait rant, to put it nicely, about a dismal 4-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Jose Mourinho’s return to Chelsea. They discuss more, too, but it’s a pretty sombre episode as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s faults are found out and the value of Michael Carrick is realised. As always, there is a youth and loan round-up, with things more positive at that level for Man United.  S2 E9 - Blistering United Score Four | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:34:56

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait are in better form thanks to two wins on the bounce from Manchester United, the latest a wonderful blistering 4-1 victory against champions Leicester City. The two teenage Reds discuss that, and the role of captain and soon-to-be top goalscorer of all-time Wayne Rooney following Jose Mourinho dropping the Englishman, the first time that has happened since Boxing Day 2015. There’s also a brief chat about the League Cup victory away at Sixfields, a 3-1 win vs Northampton Town. It’s September, and that means another busy week ahead for United with the famous (erm) Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk coming to Old Trafford before Mark Hughes’ blundering Stoke City side visit the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday.  S2 E6 - Zlatan tramples Saints | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:55

Hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait speak with delight of Manchester United’s start to the season, this time a 2-0 win at home to Southampton. Paul Pogba made his (second) debut, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored another two goals, and Marouane Fellaini resembled something of a footballer; in fact, he was our man of the match. We also discuss the Mata/Mkhitaryan enigma, who is our most hated player in the Premier League, not forgetting our weekly youth and loan round-up, too. As Harry mentions in the outro, we shall be silent next week due to various date clashes. In the meantime, check out our youth season preview with the excellent Tracey Germaine (S2E5) here. You can also listen to our interview with the Times’ Chief Football Correspondent Oliver Kay on his book “Forever Young; the story of football’s lost genius Adrian Docherty.” Check that out See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
