I'm out of the office this week, enjoying a brief anniversary trip. So Dalton and myself recorded a fun conversation about the state of PC gaming in regards to JRPGs. We focus on Edge of Eternity, a promising JRPG that's been in early access for years but releasing in full in June and later this year for consoles. He's played the game for a few hours and will give his impressions. We also chat about his obcession with the Neptunia series and the upcoming ninja crossover action rpg game. Of course I take the chance to cry about Persona 4 Golden being on PC and not PS4 and Switch. I hope you enjoy this fun show and I'll be back with the news next week! In a stunning announcement, Bandai Namco revealed Tales of Arise is indeed coming this year, on September 10th worldwide in fact. I was fully prepared to wait until next year, but we will have an amazing looking JRPG experience in our hands in a few months. I break down everything we learned from the trailers and gameplay, most I love but one thing I don't. Over 20 minutes of Tales fandom overflowing hype. But that's not all we have. News about the Y's IX PC and Switch western release, today's release of NieR Replicant and the Atelier Mysterious Trilogy, and a new mobile game from the Fairy Tale creator. Plus much much more. Next week I'll be out of town but l hope you will enjoy a JRPG conversation between Dalton and myself. I'll catch up on all the news in two weeks! A recent interview with Final Fantasy VII Remake co director Tetsuya Nomura shed some light on the future of DLC for the game. I'll go over his statements and let you know what I think it means going forward. He also gave many details about Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. I'll let you know everything he said and what it means. I also started Dragon Quest II on Switch this week. Is it just a mobile port or a faithful recreation of the original? I have a few other fun stories to discuss that I hope you enjoy. Thanks for listening! Please consider funding the show via Patreon or the Anchor link at the bottom of the description. Falcom had a big celebration for its 40th anniversary. During the livestream they showed off The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki to the world. Two videos detailed the battle systems, which you can switch between freely, the characters, and the city Edith. I'll explain everything we know about this amazing looking and playing game. Tales of Festival showed Tales of Arise in video form as well, but we didn't see anything new. Nor did we learn much except more information is coming in the spring. Those two big stories dominate the podcast this week but I have some other fun things to discuss. Thanks for listening each and every week! As promised here is another podcast (a very short one) covering all the news and events from yesterday's New Game Plus Expo. The big news of the day was Disgaea 6 and its June western release date. We finally have confirmation of Cold Steel IV's PC release date as well. A new other release date were announced but overall it was an average show. Most sadly was the lack of any Hajimari no Kiseki news... Please consider funding the show via Patreon or the Anchor link at the bottom of the description. The latest Nintendo Direct managed to both impress and disappoint at the same time. There were a ton of games crammed into the nearly hour long presentation, some we haven't seen before. But it was the absence of Shin Megami Tensei V that left fans scratching their heads, including ours. We break down every JRPG shown and even give some thoughts on the other games. Plus all the other news of the week in this huge over an hour podcast. Many thank to Dalton for dropping by. Catch me on his podcast, The Steam Machine Podcast, this weekend for our thoughts on Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. This week saw the reveal of the newest expansion to the Final Fantasy XIV universe: Endwalker. It also showed the future with a revamped version coming to PS5. The game continues to evolve with the times and has a bright future ahead. We have a date for this year's New Game Plus Expo: March 4. Expect some JRPG news to come from this event. Hopefully. A few other stories, I talk hype about Persona 5 Strikers and Bravely Default II, and the Big in Japan Sale is underway on PSN. In late breaking news, Kingdom Hearts is coming to PC! All the games will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store in March. Please consider funding the show via Patreon or the Anchor link at the bottom of the description. *Do not listen to this podcast if you haven't beaten the game. We will talk about it all!* I finally beat The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV a few weeks ago. So that means its spoilercast time! Jake waited patiently for us to talk and boy do we talk. So much so that we had to break it up into two parts. This episode covers all the basics, the beginning, up to the Eventide event. Part 2 comes next week with everything else.
