 JRPG Report Episode 178 - Rumor: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Coming in 2022? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:40:36

As with all rumors this one could be false. But it makes sense and has some ground to stand on. I'll report why I think this is true and why I want it to be true as a huge Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fan. I hope we get confirmation of the game at TGS next month. In non rumor news Tales of Arise is getting a demo on August 18. Consoles gamers (sorry PC) will get a short preview of the game although save data will not carry over. At the end of the podcast I'll read Siliconera's preview of the first few hours of the game. This may indeed be the same portion of the game the demo covers.  SMT V got a new trailer last night as well as a few other games, so you'll want to check our Youtube page for all the new videos of the week. There you will find a gameplay video for 35 minutes of Blue Reflection Second Light. Thanks for listening as always!  JRPG Report Episode 177 - FFX Was 20 Years Ago | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:50:54

It's hard to believe huh? Feels like much less time than that. There was a recent interview with some of the key members of the development team, so I'll share of the interesting tidbits from that conversation.  We have news from Tales of Arise, SMT V, Blue Reflection 2nd Light, and others. News is getting a bit lighter in the lead up to Gamecon and Tokyo Game Show. Stick around to the end for a listener review from Jake for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wing of Ruin. If you're on the fence about this game, perhaps his review will help you out.  Lastly if you were wondering about our nightly livestreams, they will return for sure with Tales of Arise. I finished up Remake and Intermission and can't decide on a next game. Maybe FF XIV to pass the time? Until I decide for sure, I'm taking a break and having fun with Genshin Impact. I'll let you know what I decide next week! Please consider funding the show via Patreon or the Anchor link at the bottom of the description.  JRPG Report Episode 176 - The Tales Hype Train | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:33

The train is picking up steam as we get closer to September 10th! With the release of a new trailer and livestream, the Tales of Arise hype is only growing. I'll talk a bit about the new fishing activity and owl collecting. The next huge JRPG experience is only 6 weeks away! Idea Factory International gave us three windows release windows for upcoming games: Mary Skelter Finale, Death End Request 2 for Switch and the newly named Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars. We have a surprise western release date for Blue Reflection Second Light as well: it's coming November 9. A super fast turn around for a game releasing in October in Japan. The second half of 2021 is JRPG heavy (our poor wallets). It's a super episode this week but I hope you loved it. Thanks as always for listening!  JRPG Report Episode 175 - The Walter Wednesday Show | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:17

What a title right? It's Wednesday so that can only mean I'm gonna be out of town Thursday. So I wanted to have a little fun with the title. And Walter will show up in the podcast about halfway through. No headliners or release dates to mention, plus I'm in a bit of a rush to get out the door. Games we cover in this show: FF XIV, Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki, Disgaea, Blue Reflection Second Light, Tales of Arise, SMT V, and the future of Atlus and Dragon Quest. At the end I mention a few games on sale on the PSN store too. Back to normal next week. Thanks for listening!  JRPG Report Episode 174 - What's Next for Persona? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:41

It's a good question and one will we have an answer for starting in September. Atlus will have a year long, 25th Anniversary celebration of Persona, with 7 planned announcements from September 2021 to Fall 2022. So what will they announce? I'll speculate what I think may come. We have a new trailer for Tales of Arise and Shin Megami Tensei V, along with many more you can see on our YouTube page. The Caligula Effect 2 got a fall release date of October 19 in the west, along with a new English gameplay trailer. The Cruel King and Great Hero is the official title when it heads west in early 2022. It was formally referred to as the The Wicked King and Noble Hero.  We talk a lot of Final Fantasy in todays podcast. FF XVI, Remake, and even the remote possibility of FF X-3. Stick around until the end for that story. Next week's podcast will release on Wednesday as I'll be out of town on Thursday for an end of summer short trip. Thanks for listening friends!  JRPG Report Episode 173 - Blue Reflection Second Light Debut | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:38:31

Announced back in March, teased a few days ago, and revealed this week. Gust has shown off Blue Reflection Second Light, coming to Switch and PS4 in Japan this October. There's a debut trailer, images, and details to go over on today's podcast.  The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki shared new images and details about Fie and Zin today, as well as a new (at least to me) character. Let's hope we get this game before 2024! Tales of had a livestream featuring the newest animated opening for Tales of Arise. Don't worry fans they didn't change this tradition. There's also a blu ray full of all the opening for Tales games coming in December....for $65!  We got a few other trailers and stories to talk about. I'll give an update on my moving plans, how great my PS5 is, and a small bit about some future brand plans. Like last week's rant? NIS America makes a second rant appearance this week, plus I share my feelings on the new Switch model. Thanks for listening!  JRPG Report Episode 172 - Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters I, II, & III Coming July 28 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:50

Hey gang we are back for another week of fun stories. So in short everything last week was true! I won't repeat the news so check last week's show to learn all about the Trails localizations. Although I do rant at the end about the crazy amount of time needed. Stick around for that fun! Let's talk about the FF Pixel Remasters coming July 28 with the first three games. I'll detail everything we know so far. We talk a bit of Tales at the end, mobile JRPG news in the end, and the biggest news of the week at the beginning: I got a PS5 today! Gamestop is shipping it hopefully tomorrow. So I'll share the easiest way (but most expensive unless you want to pay a scalper) to finally land your new system. Thanks for listening my friends!  JRPG Report Episode 171 - Trails Localization Leaks | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:48:45

Well so much for a slow week. Post E3 week was anything but quiet. We lead today's show with a leak and rumor, however I feel it's very legit. NIS America will be bringing 4 Legend of Heroes games to the west in 2022 and 2023. This leak comes from the Epic Games Store and there are still listings to prove this. Tonight's livestream of Falcom's 40th anniversary will either prove or disprove it all. Listen for all the details but in short Hajimari no Keseki is now Trails into Reverie and will come to the west in 2023. They will also finally be bringing the Crossbell games to the west as well as the Trails offshoot, The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. Full details next week on if this was all true or not. We also have videos and stories on Tales of Arise, Shin Megami Tensei V, Scarlet Nexus, Legend of Mana, NEO: The World Ends with You, and so much more. Super exciting news to share all around but I end the show on a bit of a low story: FF9 is getting an animated kids show? Listen til the end and I'll see you next week. Thanks for listening!
