The numbers on Vanderbilt's offense and defense are some of the worst we've seen. Our predictions on rushing yards for the Commodores, rushing yards for Lynn Bowden, sacks by Kentucky and final score of Saturday's 3:30 ET game between UK and Vanderbilt. Bowden is among four finalist for the Hornung Award. Is he the leader for that award? Bowden tweets at Calipari about missing basketball. What does it mean!? UK adds three signees to its 2020 basketball class. And the James Wiseman situation takes a turn. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Kentucky opened as an eight-point favorite over Vanderbilt but that's now up to 10 points. Why the Wildcats should be able to take care of business. We also discuss the Kentucky stable of running backs and that Chris Rodriguez, we learned, is a country music fan. Kyle and Dan reminisce on country music. Lastly, who's signed and expected to sign in the early signing period, and who's still out there for Kentucky basketball's 2020 class. Learn more about your ad choices. Former Kentucky Wildcat Walter McCarty brought his Evansville Purple Aces to Rupp Arena Tuesday night and handed No. 1 Kentucky a 67-64 loss. It marks the first time UK has lost at home to an unranked, nonconference opponent as the No. 1 ranked team in the AP poll. What are the major concerns for the Wildcats? Ashton Hagans' health? Nick Richards' quick regression? Turnovers? Offensive identity? We discuss all of the above. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Kentucky is the new No. 1 in the AP poll, receiving all but one first-place vote. Who doesn't agree? We discuss the lone dissenter's reasons. Defense is a big reason why UK's atop the poll. What's happening to make the Wildcats so strong defensively this early? Kyle has a new tool at his disposal that allows him to see defensive evaluations of each individual Kentucky player - the same tool the coaches use. Mark Stoops met with the media Monday and began by defending the way his team is playing offensively. We discuss why UK is not likely to use Sawyer Smith at quarterback much, if any, the rest of the season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Following Kentucky's loss to Tennessee, it's painfully obvious how much the Wildcats miss Benny Snell. Short-yardage situations have been UK's Achilles heel this season, which was magnified on the final possession against the Vols. Needing just a yard to score the go-ahead touchdown, Kentucky failed on third and goal from the one-yard line and again on fourth and goal from the two. The Cats built a 13-nothing first quarter lead, then never scored again. They blew a double-digit lead against Florida this season, as well. Short-yardage situations killed the Cats against the Gators, too. No disrespect to Kentucky's current stable of backs, but Snell got those tough yards for Kentucky the last three years. Believe it or not, Kentucky junior Nick Richards - a McDonald's All-American in high school - had only recorded one double-double in his UK career before Friday against EKU. He'd only ever scored 20 or more points in a game at UK once before Friday either. Richards had 25 points and 15 rebounds in just his sixth game as a Wildcat against Fort Wayne his freshman season. It's taken two years for Richards to post another one - 21 points and 10 rebounds to go with his four blocked shots against the Colonels. Is this who he is now or are we overreacting? The reasons why the former is more likely. And the final topic of discussion is the new guy, Dan Rieffer from Lexington's Fox 56 is Kyle Tucker's new co-host. You will want to hear the story about the fracas between Dan and another media member in front of Anthony Davis back in 2011. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
