023: How To Befriend Your Body + Thrive Under Pressure with Victoria Garrick | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

I know that you are going to relate to today’s guest SO MUCH, and not because you’re an elite athlete like her, but because you’ve probably dealt with, or are dealing with a lot of the same internal battles that she has. Today, we’re hanging out with Victoria Garrick, who is a senior volleyball star at The University of Southern California. Not only is she is a four-year division I starter, team captain, two-time NCAA elite eight contender, and 2015 PAC-12 champion-- aka a total badass on the court, she is also an advocate for mental health and body image struggles in athletes and young women all over the world. Through her own struggles with depression, disordered eating, and body image, she has learned how to rise up and reach her goals no matter what it takes. Victoria is even a TEDx speaker, and her talk “Athletes and Mental Health: The Hidden Opponent” has led to tons of media exposure and opportunities for her to shed light on the internal battles that many athletes, and actually young adults in general, are facing. Whether you are an elite athlete or just workout for fun, I know that you’ll relate so much to Victoria’s stories and wisdom around chasing goals, perseverance, overcoming bad body image, and picking yourself up when it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.  Episode 022: 10 Healthy Habits that Changed My Life + a Special Announcement with Marie Wold | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Normally, I wouldn’t do two solo shows in a row-- it just doesn’t sit well with my perfectionist tendencies, BUT I’m making an exception and shuffling some things around because I have something REALLY exciting to tell you about this week. But before we get to the really exciting announcement, I wanna fill you in on what this episode is about and that is HEALTHY HABITS. As you probably know, habits are the foundation of wellness because when motivation fades, habits and discipline will be what keep you chugging along. But the tricky thing with habits is that it always feels like BAD habits are SO easy to fall into, and GOOD habits are SO hard to establish-- can you relate?! For me, one of the most helpful things when it comes to creating those healthy habits is to really get clear on the IMPACT it’s going to have. I’m the type of person where if there isn’t a clear, logical reason for doing something, I’m absolutely NOT going to be motivated to do it. So today I’m going to share with you 10 healthy habits that have literally changed my LIFE, AND explain the impact that they’ve had so that you can decide whether or not each habit is something you want to pursue and if you do, you can do so with clarity and confidence that it’s with your best interest in mind and at heart.  Episode 021: The 5 Hardest Lessons My Fitness Journey Has Taught Me with Marie Wold | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Today it’s just you and me for another SOLO SHOW! I recently polled my instagram followers about what type of content and topics you guys would want to see and lots of you said you wanted more solo shows, so your wish is my command.. PLUS they’re really fun for me too! Today we are talking about the top 5 things that I’ve learned on my fitness and let me tell you… most of these were learned the HARD way. I started my fitness journey about 8 years ago and I did EVERYTHING wrong in the beginning and basically made things way harder than they needed to be for YEARS. I saw the light eventually, have learned SO much, and now I’m a successful coach and everything, but I would have saved so much time and frustration if I would've understood these 5 lessons sooner. Obviously I can’t go back in time yet, BUT hopefully by sharing these lessons with you, you’ll get to skip over a little bit of that struggle that I went through. PLUS the sooner you can learn and apply these lessons to fitness, the sooner you can apply them to the rest of your life too. Because while I am talking about these in the context of health and fitness, they can all be directly applied to ANY other area of life as well, and that’s one of the reasons why health/fitness/wellness are foundational topics of this show-- they really translate into every other area of life and are a catalyst for growth.  Episode 020: How To Eat MORE and Lose Weight with Laura Schoenfeld, RD | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Today’s episode is SO relevant because with Andrew and my’s 8-week fall fitness challenge, we are getting SO many messages and comments in our facebook group saying “I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M EATING THIS MUCH AND STILL LOSING WEIGHT” and then, before we started the challenge and everyone was just getting their plans, we had multiple panicked messages asking us if we made a typo or if we were sure the numbers were right because some people’s recommended fat loss calories were HIGHER than they were used to eating but they weren’t even seeing progress with them. It might sound like some magic fantasy world, but this phenomenon is VERY REAL and as a coach, I see this ALL of the time. Women are chronically under-eating, sometimes for decades, and it’s not doing anyone any favors. So we’re going to set the record straight in today’s episode with the help of my guest, Laura Schoenfeld. Laura is a Registered Dietitian with her own private practice. She specializes in helping overstressed, overtrained, and undernourished women get back to better physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. By combining evidence-based functional nutrition training with spirituality and self-compassion, she help’s her clients reach their highest level of real health and wellness with the overall of becoming fed and fearless! LOVE IT. Laura has so much knowledge and great insights to share with us in today’s episode, so I can’t wait for you to soak it all in! Today we are getting alll of our facts straight about PERIODS and BIRTH CONTROL. You guys have been asking for an episode around these topics for a while now, and I found just the gal for the job-- today’s guest, Nicole Jardim, really delivered the goods. She is known as “The Period Girl”, not even kidding, and she is INSANELY knowledgeable about all things periods, hormones, birth control-- all of those fun girly things that we all experience all the time. Nicole is also going to break down common period problems, reasons why we experience period problems in the first place, the crazy drug that we call birth control ,and more-- and as much as we tend to shy away from these topics, as women, this is all stuff that we NEED to know. So a little bit about Nicole: her mission is to help women in their 20s and 30s reclaim their hormonal health and feminine vitality, NATURALLY. She’s a Certified Women’s Health + Functional Nutrition Coach with a specialty in hormonal and reproductive health and has completed a TON of education in women’s health-- she know’s her shit, and you’re gonna see what I mean when we get into the episode.
