On today’s show Matt sat down and spoke with Paralympian Peter Ryan. In 2010 Peter was diagnosed with Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON), a rare genetic disorder that left him with ten percent vision. During the show Peter spoke about how he first learned there was something wrong, his previous problems with alcohol, acceptance with becoming blind and how important his family was during this difficult period in his life. Peter also talks about how he started cycling, competing in the Paralympics in Rio in 2016 with Sean Hahessy, racing around Ireland for charity, their hopes for Tokyo 2020 and more! On today's show Matt Shared with us his experience of traveling solo around Thailand for nearly three weeks. Matt talks tells us what it was like to spend three weeks alone on a holiday for his first time traveling. Matt spent much of his time on his holiday trying to learn and understand the culture in Thailand so in this show Matt was able to give us a great insight to his experiences, friends he met and the beautiful placed he went too. This holiday appears to have been a roller coaster of emotion for Matt but he successfully navigated his way through this to which he attributes this to the work he has done on his own personal development and passion for mental health and well being training on the last few years. On the show today Matt got to chat with Buddhist Monk Rom who is from the suan dok temple chiang mai Thailand. Matt and Rom spoke about the benefits meditation, calming the monkey mind and the philosophy of Buddhism. While touring Matt got to visit 3 temples, suan dok temple, Palad Temple and doi suthep temple and spend the day with Hom who spent ten years as a monk. Charles has experienced difficult times in his life such as, becoming paralyzed, on deaths door as he calls it and having a black angel. Through all those difficult times Charles never lost his gratuity for life and he attributes this to his mother who was a huge influence in his life.
