Nick wraps up the Skulls of Summer interviews this week by speaking with comic book writer Jim Ottaviani about his upcoming book about the life of Stephen Hawking. Jim Ottaviani is the mind behind some of the best science comics out there. His body of work includes Feynman, T-Minus, and The Imitation Game, and he has been nominated for an Eisner award, two Ignatz awards. His first book, Two Fisted Science, won a Xeric-Award.

This week, an interview with two-time Ignatz Award winner Carolyn Nowak (Radishes, Diana's Electric Tongue), whose new book Girl Town is set for release in September. The Skulls of Summer present: An Interview with Alison Bechdel! Out of the archives comes Nick's interview with comic creator Alison Bechdel. She created the brilliant, long running Dykes to Watch Out For in 1983. By 2008, when the strip went on hiatus, Bechdel had cemented herself as one of the preeminent cartoonists of her generation. Her graphic memoir Fun Home was a New York Times bestseller, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and winner of a GLAAD Media award among many, many other commendations. A theater adaptation debuted on Broadway in late March of 2015. Her next graphic memoir/biography, Are You My Mother? was similarly lauded.
