The guest for this show is United States Congresswoman Mia Love, who represents Utah’s 4th Congressional District. We talked about education, recruiting air quality, transportation, what’s it’s like to serve in Congress, and all sorts of other things---like running! Literally the physical act of running, not campaigning for office. It was great to have Rep. Love stop by the Silicon Slopes Studio.

On today’s show we bring you a live recording of an event at Silicon Slopes HQ. We had Pluralsight CEO Aaron Skonnard, Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne, and the great Amy Rees Anderson on stage recently to talk about their induction into this year’s UTC Hall of Fame. It was also great to have UTC CEO John Knotwell in the mix and at Silicon Slopes HQ. The conversation veered in all sorts of unexpected directions. We had some fun on this one.
Ryan Westwood is the CEO of Simplus, a Gold Salesforce Consulting Partner. An experienced entrepreneur and Inc 500 CEO, he is also a private investor through JW Capital. Ryan is the author of The Five Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur and is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship.
Clint speaks with Sorenson Media CEO Marcus Liassides in front of a live audience at Silicon Slopes HQ. Sorenson Media is one of the fastest growing, highest-revenue-generating companies in Silicon Slopes. You may not know about them, but that’ll change after you listen to this episode. Marcus is one of the most brilliant CEO’s in Utah.
Clint speaks with Provo Mayor and Republican candidate for Utah’s 3rd Congressional District, John Curtis. Clint's known John a long time. He considers him a friend. Mayor Curtis was an early supporter of Beehive Startups, for which we'll always be grateful. But none of that stopped Clint from asking him questions. Whether they were hard or not is debatable, but questions were asked.
On today’s show Meg Walter and Clint Betts sit-down with Dr. Kathie Allen, the Democratic candidate for Utah’s 3rd congressional district. Those who know Clint know he happens to be well-acquainted with Dr. Allen’s opponent in the 3rd congressional district race, Provo Mayor John Curtis. Even after hearing such blasphemy, Dr. Allen still agreed to come on the show and we’re very grateful she did. We had a delightful conversation.

On today’s show, Clint talks to his mentor and life-long friend Mary Crafts-Homer, founder and CEO of Culinary Crafts. Clint describes her as his personal mentor, hero, and favorite person in the world, saying, "I’ve never met anyone more willing to serve others, give without any expectation of return, and love without reservation. She also happens to be a world-class entrepreneur who’s built Utah’s premier catering company. I’ll remember this conversation for a long time."
The Silicon Slopes Podcast is back. To kick-off the return, we invited Sen. Orrin Hatch on the show to talk about the two events he's help organized for Utah's tech community. At Sen. Hatch's request, Oracle CEO Safra Catz and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be speaking at upcoming events in our community over the next couple of weeks.
