Oramos esta oración todos los días, pero las palabras pueden resonar de manera distinta cada vez. No las digas a prisa estas palabras, sino contémplalas hoy de nuevo. Busca la voluntad de Dios por encima de todo. Confía en que Él proveerá para todas tus necesidades. Y perdona libremente. Y encontrarás paz y alegría en esta vida y en la próxima.

We pray this prayer every day, but the words can hit us differently every time. Don’t speed through these words, but contemplate them anew today. Seek God’s will above all else. Trust that He will provide for your every need. And forgive freely. And you will find peace and joy in this life and in the next.

As a Christian in spring training, how can I better love my neighbor today? Who is the Lord calling me to love and serve today? Do I truly see everyone as my brother and sister? Do I seek out the less fortunate, the poor, the hungry, the stranger, the naked, the imprisoned and the sick?

Como cristiano en el entrenamiento de primavera, ¿cómo puedo amar mejor a mi prójimo hoy? ¿A quién el Señor me llama a amar y servir hoy? ¿Realmente veo a todos como mi hermano y hermana? ¿Ayudo a los menos afortunados, a los pobres, a los hambrientos, a los extraños, a los desnudos, a los presos y a los enfermos?

Tomate un tiempo hoy para reflexionar sobre el ayuno que has elegido para esta Cuaresma. Mientras observamos a los jugadores de béisbol preparando sus cuerpos para una larga temporada, ¿cómo estoy preparando mi alma para el largo viaje de la vida? ¿Mi ayuno me está acercando más a Jesucristo? ¿Me estoy haciendo más amoroso o más egoísta?

Take time today to reflect on the fast you have chosen for this Lent. As we watch the baseball players getting their bodies ready for a long season, how I am preparing my soul for life’s long journey? Is my fast bringing me closer to Jesus Christ? Am I becoming more loving or more selfish?

Do I give up when things get difficult? Am I willing to lay down my life for Jesus? Am I a team player, or do I focus only on myself?

¡Es hora de jugar a la pelota! ¡Hagamos de este tiempo de Cuaresma un tiempo para crecer en santidad a medida que avanzamos hacia el ser santos! Salgamos del banquillo. No nos conformemos con ser cristianos de rutina. Luchemos por la santidad y que un día lleguemos al Salón de la Fama celestial. Nuestro nombre tal vez no puede ser recordado por el mundo, pero si está escrito en el Libro de la Vida, eso es todo lo que importa.

It is time to play ball! Let’s make this time of Lent a time to grow in holiness as we move toward being saints! Let’s get off the bench. Let’s not be satisfied with being routine Christians. Let’s strive for holiness, to one day be in the heavenly Hall of Fame. Our name may not be remembered by the world, but if it’s written in the Book of Life, that is all that matters.

¿Estoy listo para intentar vivir una vida de gracia? ¿Soy consciente de las tentaciones del diablo, el mundo y la carne? ¿Me rodeo de personas que intentan ser santas y pueden ayudarme a crecer en santidad?

Am I ready to try to live a life of grace? Am I aware of the temptations by the devil, the world and the flesh? Do I surround myself with people who are trying to be saints and can help me grow in holiness?

What is the most recent trial that I have faced in my life? Have I turned to God in faith and thanksgiving during this trial? To what or whom do I turn to when I face a trial? Have I seen my faith grow through the trials of life?
