We believe that teachers are solar-powered and recharge each summer. We discuss how much work for school we actually do each summer. As far as treating ourselves, Liz treated herself to a pedicure recently, Kari treated herself to a Bota Box (box of wine) & wants to try the new hot soaking pool that recently opened in our city. Paige has found the only way she can catch a nap with two little ones at home is visiting a “napping pod.” Interesting fact: Liz’s school does THREE quick 10 minute recesses to help give the students their much needed brain breaks. The ice cubes clink in our margaritas as we discuss two important keys to being a successful & happy teacher- prioritizing & organizing. Their system for prioritizing- the big whoop & no big whoop system- comes in handy when deciding what to spend a lot of time or energy thinking about. Traci makes lists, often before leaving work each day, to help her prioritize what truly needs to get done. Paige loves The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up book by Marie Kondo. What are your tricks for organizing or prioritizing? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
