Beginning the first week of April, the 14th street reconstruction project from the Simpson roundabout to Albany Street will begin. The planned improvements will increase safety, mobility and accessibility. Construction closures and detours will be in effect until completion at the end of June.

Bend Fire continually adapts its training to best serve our unique community. This year’s new training focus will be fighting fires on upper floors of taller buildings. 

The City has finished the Southeast Interceptor, also known as the 27th Street Sewer Line. This is 8 miles of gravity fed sewer pipe that's been in the making for more than 20 years!

The Bend Airport is about to open a new heliport on the East side of the runway.  Commercial flights, manufacturing and student pilots make Bend one of the busiest municipal airports in the entire State.

The Bend Fire Department is working with Rebound Physical Therapy on an injury prevention program, using functional fitness exercise. 

The City is improving safety for people who walk and bike on Third Street. 

The City of Bend is joining forces with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council and Bend Park and Recreation District to help clean up the Deschutes River which is seeing thousands of people float the river daily.  

The final leg of the sewer line project progressing along 27th Street is about to begin near Neff Road and Purcell Boulevard. Its completion will be a huge milestone for the City.

The Transportation System Plan is a vital component of the City’s plan for growth and how we will deal with East/West connectivity as our Urban Growth Boundary expands.
