K-State feedlot nutritionist Chris Reinhardt addresses the use of beta-agonist supplements in cattle finishing rations, in the wake of last week's announcement by a major beef packer that it has suspended procurement of cattle that have been fed a specific beta-agonist product...he tells what science has to say about the safety of such supplements.

State statistician Jason Lamprecht of Kansas Agricultural Statistics reports on the first USDA estimate on Kansas row crop production based on actual field surveys, and on the final forecast of this year's Kansas wheat production...those numbers were released yesterday.
