WBD305 - The Bitcoin Shakeout - Jan '21 Trading Update with Willy Woo | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Bitcoin has had a great year so far, after hitting a new all-time high of ~$42,000 it has been in a consolidation range bouncing between $30,000 and $40,000. Since that top, we have seen a massive uptick in FUD, including a misreported double spend. This '˜double spend' scared some investors and NexTech, a software company that had recently bought 130 Bitcoin, sold off the $4 million of Bitcoin they had acquired as a result. With Bitcoin cooling off for the first time in this bull market, what is the on-chain data telling us, and how can you know when a bull market is coming to an end? In this interview, I talk to on-chain analyst and the co-founder of Hypersheet; Willy Woo. We discuss the run-up to $42,000, what the on-chain data indicates, price targets for Bitcoin and how to call the top.

WBD304 - WSB, Bitcoin & Ethereum with Lyn Alden | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Since early January Bitcoin has been consolidating between $30k and $40k and the fundamentals and technicals remain strong. Grayscale has ceased their hiatus, MicroStrategy has added to their position during this time and, in early February, will be holding a conference for other companies to explain their Bitcoin playbook. However, the big story over the last couple of weeks has been Wall Street Bets, the Reddit community taking on Wall Street. These retail investors have picked highly shorted stocks such as GameStop and AMC and bought in huge numbers. Traders activated a massive short squeeze on GameStop, and at least two hedge funds have had to cover their positions at a considerable loss. During this period the GameStop price went from ~$19 to ~$460. With retail traders desperate to take it to Wall Street, what is the eventual outcome, and what role has the COVID lockdowns and subsequent stimulus played in this? In this interview, I talk to Lyn Alden, a macroeconomist and investment strategist. We discuss the Bitcoin price action, retail investors/WSBs and Lyn's economic analysis of Ethereum.

Compassion vs. Compulsion in the Holy Land with Ilana Rachel Daniel - The Tatiana Show Ep. 299 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Like every country, Israel has struggled in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. And while combatting the disease is a hugely important task for all of us, is victory by any means necessary the right strategy? Could we be permanently sacrificing our freedom to beat this plague? Ilana Rachel Daniel of the Israeli Rappeh Health Party joins the show to talk about the country's vaccination requirement as well as its "green pass" vaccine passport program, a pair of compulsory policies that Ilana believes are a dangerous encroachment on the nation's liberty, and a canary in the coal mine for all western countries. About the Guest: Ilana Rachel Daniel, Health advisor, health and safety researcher, activist, and writer, joined forces with the co-founders of the Rappeh party because this movement is one that, finally, raises the bar. It leaves behind the arguments of right and left, pro and anti, even religious designations, and asks of us: what are the most basic common denominators we share? Like many of you this past year she hase witnessed the deliberate destruction of the values that we live by and the systems in place to uphold them in the name of "public health". She has sat up nights grappling with the inconsistencies in the explanations our government has offered for their policies. "After a full year, billions upon billions of dollars, and the most brilliant scientific minds at the task, I ask: how can deadly lockdowns and a risky, experimental, novel technology be our only options? The cure has become far worse than the disease. I maintain that the right to self determination and bodily autonomy are not privileges offered by government, but are inalienable rights inherent to every individual with whom we share the planet. Informed consent is a basic component of a healthy and functioning society. The freedoms of speech, choice, and ability to earn an honest wage and raise a family accordingly are rights upon which the government may not intrude. Our governments will not be returning us our freedoms. On the contrary, they take action to further eradicate them. I am not a politician. I am part of this movement because this country is more than my home and our fellow citizens are more than neighbors. This is our land and it is our refuge. The nations are watching now as they have always done. I wish to restore our ability to shine light to them. This is our movement, this is our witness, this is our future. It changes for the better the moment we together take the responsibility back."  The Anita Posch Show - Edan Yago: Sovereignty Through Bitcoin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Edan Yago is a neuroscientist and entrepreneur who turned his career around to focus on Bitcoin. He has been pivotal in establishing Sovryn one of the first Bitcoin-native DeFi platforms. We're talking about how a decentralized bitcoin trading and lending platform like Sovryn will create a new, open economic system that empowers individuals globally. "The people that Bitcoiners hate the most are, shitcoiners, altcoiners, that's not really the enemy they are basically a gateway into the crypto space and in particular into the Bitcoin space. The real enemies I think, are going to be the centralized intermediaries to whom we give up our power. It's going to be the large exchanges, the lending platforms, the custodian platforms, because what their regulators are going help them is to persuade you that for convenience or for security, you should give up your Bitcoin. So that the only interesting property of Bitcoin, which is the sovereignty or self control is something you'd give up. And then if you're distracted by the price gains, you won't even notice." - Edan Yago Topics: Why Edan Yago lived in a closet Why Bitcoin matters Advantages of Bitcoin DeFi to other blockchains NFTs are silly, but... The future of finance and self-sovereignty How decentralized lending works Sovryn's mission and innovations Governance without company structures Shownotes on the episode page

 WBD303 - Bitcoin Tech #1 - UTXOs with Shinobi | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Checking your balance or sending Bitcoin can be as simple as opening an app or scanning a QR code and clicking send, but what is happening behind the scenes to make that happen? Unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) are the monetary units of bitcoin. They are likes coins and notes in the traditional financial system but can be of any value. When accessing a wallet, the software creates your balance by totalling the value of all your UTXOs, and when you want to send someone Bitcoin, your wallet selects the UTXOs required to make up the amount you want to send. In many cases, wallet software abstracts away UTXOs so that the user does not have to consider them. However, it is a crucial part of the system that, when properly used, can help protect your privacy and reduce your transaction fees. In this interview, I talk to Shinobi, the host of Block Digest. We discuss UTXOs, what they do, how they work and the implications for both privacy and transaction fees.

WBD302 - Why Buy Bitcoin? With Andy Edstrom | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Why buy bitcoin is a complicated question to answer. Bitcoin is many different things to different people. It is a censorship-resistant form of payment for those living under authoritarian regimes; for some, it is a hedge against inflation, while it is purely speculative for many others. Even with Bitcoin adoption growing and maturing, the public perception of Bitcoin is still mixed. The mainstream media is somewhat to blame. It regularly pedals false narratives such as the funding of terrorism or Bitcoin being for drug dealers and network security that is melting the polar icecaps. As Bitcoiners we are used to dealing with this kind of FUD, Bitcoin has been declared dead hundreds of times, yet it continually bounces back. So, why buy Bitcoin? In this interview, I talk to Andy Edstrom, author of Why Buy Bitcoin. We discuss his investment thesis for Bitcoin, why Bitcoin continues to thrive and address the common misconceptions and FUD surrounding it.
