Christopher Loren - Unspirituality, Permission to be Human | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:21:27

Christopher Loren's interests lie in the subjective area of human experience as a natural phenomenon. After a 30 year spiritual journey he argues against the definitions handed down through esoteric traditions and offers a new vision for body-based wisdom and understanding. We'll discuss his book Unspirituality, Permission to be Human. How is it that throughout time, mankind has turned to mysticism, spirituality and religion? Christopher speaks about how the spiritual story was once an answer to the anxieties of the natural world, but now has become a cage in which humans are trapped. He explains how we have been cheated for far too long by "believing." He also talks about how childhood suppression is at the seat of "religious and spiritual delusion" which becomes the arena for the retrieval of a shamed imagination. He says these obstructive beliefs, be it religious or spiritual/metaphysical, have stagnated the human psyche and our own collective evolution. He points out some of these beliefs. We touch upon theories of human evolution, neurology and body intelligence. Christopher comments on our future as a species.

We’ll discuss possible sub-textual messages in The Shining. What was Stanley Kubrick really telling us? What was he really involved in? We talk about how Kubrick played on the ignorance of the viewer, leaving visual information, clues in the corner but people often missed them. Are the synchronicities, symbols and messages found in Kubrick’s film intentional or was a higher force working through him? Then, we’ll discuss the work of Will Morgan who compiled footage pointing out the synchronicities in the movies Andras Jones appeared in. Andras elaborates on how these syncs paralleled with his life off camera, just as others have pointed out this same phenomena with many other actors. We end on the big question of where human kind is heading just as Kubrick speculated on man’s future in his film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

"Man lives his life in sleep, and in sleep he dies." As a result of this condition, each person perceives things from a completely subjective perspective. People in their typical state function as unconscious automatons, but that one can wake up and become a different sort of human being altogether.
