Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #822 SUN, JAN 13 (01-13-2019):  #1- Amazing Latin American Healthcare full coverage insurance plans are available for Gringos and Expats- with zero to $50 deductible- for a mere $50 to $200 a month: Yes, it seems unbelievable but are they too good to be true?  #2- The pitfalls of so called “Medical Tourism”- what you didn’t know and what no one wants to tell you. Sure, you can save bundle if you pop down to Latin America to have your belly fat sucked out, have dental work done or kidney stone or gall bladder surgery. But guess what? If you make the arrangements through an online medical tourism outfit (there are dozens of such sites.. and in English too), you will pay about TWICE what the local Latinos will pay for the identical service or treatment- at the very same clinics and hospitals and from the very same doctors. Still, for a gringo the price is right and it will look like a great deal but remember, if you come down and do the legwork yourself (and speak Spanish or know someone who does) you can save another 50% off the internet derived “medical tourism” listed fees and not compromise yourself in any way…     #3- Is Big Brother watching its citizens in Latin America too? How it is possible that just two cities in Bolivia have 1600 Chinese made ultra-high-tech surveillance cameras that list out at $8000 a piece! Meanwhile, the average Bolivian has no hot running water and the vast majority of towns and cities have no adequate sewage disposal systems or functional water treatment plants (duh?). Turns out the Chinese are worming their way into Latin American governments and industries by giving out and loaning extremely high-tech surveillance equipment (and more) to certain broke and susceptible Latin Governments. The Chinese companies do it by giving the lard-ass Latino bureau-rats offers they just can’t refuse…      #4- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/   #5- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America. #1- Using Cryptocurrency in Latin America- Jan 1, 2019 update The calm before the storm... today's first a 'boots on the ground' story #2- First World Healthcare at Third World prices- Jan 1, 2019 update The Canada and UK national healthcare systems exposed. The subject of today’s “boots on the ground story” #3- What about those Crazy Latino and Latina proper names that would certainly get a kid an ass – whopping up in the states? Nick names abound in Latin America. That’s the culture. Most are endearing or descriptive and in no way an insult. However, there is no shortage of horrible and confusing birth names given to kids in Latin America too. Periodically you will meet a person who has been burdened with such a moniker and you won’t believe a parent would do that to a kid. Stranger yet, when you meet a person with a mind-blowing name it will almost always be a result of uneducated parents trying to inject a favorite English word or two into a kid’s birth certificate- generally with laughable or embarrassing results (to us gringos anyway who know better)              #5- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/ #6- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America.  Expat Files - 12.30.18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:00

Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #820 SUN, DEC 30 (12-30-2018):  #1- Even the poorest of Latin Americans are addicted to social media and their devices: Yes it’s true. And it wasn’t such a stunning phenomenon even less than a year ago. But now every tortilla lady and shoe shine boy making but $10 a day- and even street urchins- can be seen glued to their phones. How can that be? Who are they connecting with? How can they afford the data plans, or the cost of a somewhat “smart” phone? What caused all that IT stuff to explode at the street level with the sweaty masses when it barely existed even in the upper classes just a few years ago? More to the point, what’s it doing to the hustle bustle of 3rd world and Latin life? What the hell is the world coming to? Today we'll tell all…       #2- The un-stated Latin status "point system":  In the Latin upper middle and wealthy social structure, the people judge you by what car model and year you have. Meanwhile, in the middle, lower middle and poor Latin classes(people without cars) one is judged by his/her cell phone brand and model (no joke!)  #3- The smart phone theft epidemic in Latin America- the dark industry that perpetuates itself  #4- The IRS hammers Expat small businessmen: The unintended consequences of Trump’s new tax rules #5- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/  #6- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America. Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #819 FRI, DEC 28 (12-28-2018):   #1- How some gringos and expats constantly end up pissing off even the most good-natured Latin Cops: Or… how to have a very bad day in paradise.           #2- How to negotiate a bribe with Latin cops and bureaucrats- PART 2. #3- How to bond with a Latin Cop and why you should do it: In Latin America it’s always good to have friends in both high and low places. It’s the subject of another amazing, but true “’boots on the ground” story. #4- Five reason why Latino businessmen prefer gringo and expats clients over their own countrymen: #5- Gypsy’s, tramps and thieves in Latin America: How to deal with them without causing a scene or embarrassing yourself (or them) #6- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/ #7- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America.  Expat Files - 12.21.18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:00

#1- Encountering scary, smart Expats: Odds are, visiting Latin America, you’ll discover the average Expat gringo by no means “average” at all. Just the fact that an American is on board with a “Plan B” means he/she a thinking person and in a class by himself. However, the same can’t be said about the majority of NGO “do-gooders” that come to Latin America in organized hive-like groups. You’ll encounter many zombiefied NGO mental lightweights- mainly off the tourist trail. You’ll recognize them at airports too, by their eerily similar looks, matching T-shirts and generic “save the world” type kumbayah slogans.           #2- How NGO "do-gooders" are NOT helping Latin America: Though their primary goals appear noble- helping the poor unwashed Latin masses- the secondary effects of NGO troopers on the ground, i.e., their freebees and dissemination of socialist political attitudes and platitudes do more harm than good.      #3- Procrastination is NOT your friend. The clock is ticking for anyone planning to getting ass and assets out of Uncle Sam-land: Know that your “Plan B” window of opportunity is very short. Although you may have a year or two get your physical ass out of Dodge, getting your assets out will be another thing. Worse case, you need to be thinking about how to make money once you arrive.              #4- More inside information on the migrant caravan: An expat in Mexico gives us his bird’s eye view direct from the front lines #5- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/  #6- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America.  Expat Files - 12.17.18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:00

Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #816 SUN, DEC 16 (12-16-2018):  #1- Living in Latin America is not for Dummies: Today we have Expat opinions on the subject... #2- Comparing Suicides in Latin America to USA numbers: #3- There are Millions of Razor Sharp Machetes in Latin America: Every household, rich and poor, has one or two tucked away or right out in the open, within reach of the kids. Sounds outrageous right? Should we be worried? #4- Why is it that nearly all Latin American adults accumulate large numbers of physical scars on their bodies? #5-Airport and airport layover horror stories: All frequent travelers have had bad airport days. What was your worst experience? Today we have a Canadian lady’s ‘boots on the ground” story that just might be the topper! #6- Pirate Taxi assaults: Stay away from non-official “pirate’ taxis. They are cheaper, but locals do get regularly assaulted and robbed on them. Some are setups. That’s the theme of today’s “boots on the ground” story. #7- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/ #8- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America. Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #815- FRI, DEC 14 (12-14-2018):  #1- Cryptocurrency update- Dec 2018: Does the recent big blowout and the feeling of pessimism and blood in the streets signal the end of Crypto? Not on your life! But we are now certainly witnessing a big wash out of the weak of heart and will. However, if you have the will and the constitution for it, just strap in and try to enjoy the roller coaster ride. Patience is the name of the game...    #2- Sign up for Johnny Mueller’s January 2019 “Expat Insider Seminar” taking place in Central America from Saturday, January 5th through Friday January 11th. However, when crossing borders these physical devices can sometimes be spotted by USA border agents and TSA (note they are like small flash drives). Carrying these have not been a problem until now. However it’s been recently reported that certain unlucky Americans are starting to be quizzed by border agents for said hardware wallet passwords. Then they will make you initialize it to see your USD balance right then and there. It’s all about that $10000 travel cash reporting limit imposed by various countries like the USA. If you carry one should you be worried? Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #812- SUN, DEC 02 (12-02-2018):  #1- The “Black” American experience in Latin American –PART 1 Judging by the number of emails that come in on the subject, people want to know what it’s like for astute Black Americans who act on their “Plan B” and get out of dodge. Do they have the same “gringo advantage” going for them as White American gringos?     #2- Sign up for Johnny Mueller’s January 2019 “Expat Insider Seminar” taking place in Central America from Saturday, January 5th through Friday January 11th. Today we discuss everything you need to know about having a dog, and the thing you absolutely need to know about the types of dogs you see in homes and on the streets of Latin America.    #4- The “Gringo Advantage” strikes again! Today we have more amazing stories and situations proving the point that Americans automatically gain 2 or 3 points on the “10 scale” the minute they step foot in Latin America. However, do note that particular “Cinderella effect” diminishes the closer you are to the “gringo” tourist trail.        #5- A certain special “Kindness to strangers” is always on the menu 24/7 in Latin America: This “boots on the ground” story proves it…  #7- Some very smart “under the radar” phone privacy steps that phone and internet companies don’t want you to know about.  #8- GET A COPY OF JOHNNY MUELLER’S- 100 PAGE “LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT” at this LINK: http://theexpatfiles.com/healthcare/  #9- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America.  Expat Files - 12.09.18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:00

#1- Insecticide/Pesticide use in Latin America: How big a problem is it and how does it concern health conscious gringos? There are many ways to measure pesticide use in a country. For example you may read the total tonnage of pesticide use in a country- but total tonnage is NOT a good measure of the concentration/contamination of the “LOCAL” crops that gringos will certainly be munching on.   So today we discuss everything you need to know about Latin crops and contamination…  #2- Sign up for Johnny Mueller’s January 2019 “Expat Insider Seminar” taking place in Central America from Saturday, January 5th through Friday January 11th. See the signup details by visitingwww.TheNewExpat.com and clicking on the Seminar link  #3- Why you should never buy imported food- and why you must read the labels and the stickers: Notice that when in any big, chaotic, central market some fruits and vegetables will NOT have and markings or stickers and some will. What’s that all about?      #4- What about those massive and gigantic fruits and vegetables you see all over Latin America: It’s got to be the chemicals right? Well…..  #5- Did you know that practically every college graduate in Latin America has multiple relatives (mother, father, grandma, grandpa) who are essentially inalfabetizadas (can’t read or write): And that fact greatly influences the upward and lateral mobility of people crappy Latin neighborhoods  #6- Today we have the real local Latin “common man” take on the migrant caravans pushing through Mexico and we discuss the real reasons (not the media driven reasons) most Latins want to get to the states. #1- Another Dirty Little Secret: Your Uncle Slam really does not want you to get residency or a 2nd passport/nationality in another country. The US especially doesn’t want you to move your money and assets out of their jurisdiction. That’s why it’s time to get serious about getting a Latin American country residency now. Meanwhile the US government continues to coerce Latin governments into tightening up their residency requirements. It’s easy to figure out why the farmer doesn’t want the sheep to leave the barn. Don't get frozen out of this opportunity.        #2- Sign up for Johnny Mueller’s January 2019 “Expat Insider Seminar” taking place in Central America from Saturday, January 5th through Friday January 11th. See the signup details by visitingwww.TheNewExpat.com and clicking on the Seminar link #3- What is a “Fiador”?: In Latin America you will hear the word “Fiador” thrown around over when dealing with lawyers, banks, landlords, utility hookups, internet service contracts and more. The truth is that every expat gringo will eventually need a “Fiador”…. #4- What your trusted Latin lawyer can and cannot do for you: #5- What to do if when applying for a Latin country residency, your required police “good conduct” report comes up bad or spotty: Yes, in certain cases there may be some work arounds and back door solutions… #6- There is a strange new word in your expat vocabulary. That word is “Apostilled”. After getting your residency documents together, the final step is to get them “Apostilled”. Today you will find out everything you need to know about that process. Descriptions- EXPAT FILES SHOW #811- FRI, NOV 30 (11-30-2018):  #1- What’s your “Plan B” climate and living comfort zone? Today we offer some tips for gringos and expats looking to buy into a first-world style Latin healthcare insurance policies. Yes, there are some very very good and amazingly inexpensive policies out there but it’s a minefield and you really have to know what you are doing and how to suss them out, since virtually all the administrators speak Spanish and naturally the paperwork is presented in Spanish. Because “private” health insurance is a relatively new concept in Latin America, gringos and expats soon find out it’s not much like shopping for health insurance in the states. Oh, and there’s an odd assumption (and it’s not money)all Latin insurance brokers have about gringos that must be dispelled right away…           #4- The scary way the Chinese are secretly buying up and optioning-off certain Latin country resources and bribing Latin governments with loans they can never pay back( they have their favorites and leave others alone): How to avoid ending up in a Latin country that is under the Chinese thumb or that will end up as a future Chinese satellite…    #5- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America. The mystery is… why have so many older and younger US teachers thrown in the towel on their teaching careers up north? We all hear complaints from US teachers about the low pay. It’s not that simple. Why do so many start teaching again in Latin American private schools- and for less than ¼ of their first-world salary?  #6- Helicopter Schools: Most medium and large cities have a dozen or more, expensive, private, so-called “helicopter” schools. The truth is that are many subtle and not so subtle differences between each of them, and it's not just in the cost of tuition (and the costs do vary quite a bit).  #7- Tips on how to save a ton of money building a home and finding an architect  #8- Johnny’s new “Expat Essentials Course” is a blueprint for your “Plan B” and the best way kick-start your exit plan before getting boots on the ground in Latin America.
