Synopsis of Episode 17: Nick Mundt of the Outdoor Channel’s Bone Collector will be on the show in the morning. I tried to ask him as many of yall’s questions as I could. He provided about as introspective a look at the kind of lifestyle outdoor personalities live as you are gonna find. Does it ever just become work? What’s his best animal? Are him, Michael Waddell and T-Bone really that good of friends off camera? And a whole lot more. Also, whether or not you enjoy Kevin Fowler’s music or not- the guy is a straight up bow hunter, actually he likes all hunting and is about as Texan as they make ’em. Synopsis of Episode 16: Ducks Unlimited Media Relations Biologist Mike Checkett (you may recognize him from DU TV on the Outdoor Channel) joins the show. We discuss all things waterfowl as the North Texas area gets ready to host the DU Sporting Expo this May 28-30 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. Also joining the show is State Senator Jeff Wentworth of San Antonio. Do you think college students who have a CHL should be allowed to carry into college classrooms? Senator Wentworth does and we discuss his proposed legislation in great detail. I also have been sitting on a bit of our Ted Nugent interview that didn’t make the original broadcast. Synopsis of Episode 15: One of my favorite artists- Roger Creager joins the show. Roger is a Corpus Christi native and salt water runs deep in those Texas veins. We talk music and some off shore fishing with Roger and I promise to ask him about his grandpa’s guns! Also, I am proud to announce that Ducks Unlimited will have a strong presence in next 5 shows leading up to their Annual National Convention- The DU Sporting Expo is being held at North Texas’ Gaylord Texan May 28-30, and DU will be providing a special guest every week leading up to the event. This week will feature World Duck Calling Champion Jim Ronquest of RNT Calls. Jimbo is a hoot! And if you didn’t know, Share Lunker #500 was landed by Corpus Christi’s Sam Callaway. Synopsis of Episode 14: This week Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Executive Director Carter Smith (the head of the entire department) joins the program. How will Govenor Perry’s proposed 25 million dollar TPWD budget cut affect the Texas Sportsman? What does he consider TPWD’s greatest success/failure in his tenure? What is his favorite part about his job? Also joining the show is the Executive Director of the Lone Star Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America- Glen Bentley. The PVA is hosting the Texas Round Up Bass Tournament coming up on Lake Ray Hubbard. I am proud to have a disabled veteran such as Glen and the rest of the PVA as part of the show. Podcast:

Unfortunately, the session ended before the bill could be voted on. We will discuss the current feral hog situation and whether or not he plans to try to get the bill passed in next January’s session. Also, for any of you who read Field and Stream I was able to track down the author of the article “Obama Inaction” which appeared in the March issue of F&S. Bob Marshall is the conservation editor of the magazine and the outdoor editor of The New Orleans Time Picayune. The article basically rips Obama for promising us (sportsmen) that he would do certain things for us and conservation. So far a board of experts hasn’t given Obama passing grades and Bob tells us why. Cable also recaps his awesome opening weekend turkey hunting experience at the beautiful Star S Ranch! Synopsis of Episode 8: Dr. Dale Rollins of the Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch and respected deer biologist Dr. James Kroll highlight this week’s show. Dr. Kroll shares his opinions on why the current Antler Restrictions are not an effective means to increase the age structure among whitetail bucks.
