Every year tens of thousands will be killed on the roads and highways of America. These are classified as accidents and in 2010 more that 33,000 died because of negligence. Of those about have involve a drunk driver the rest are the result of pure negligence. Compare that to about 12,00 murders committed with fire arms or the 606 that died from unintentional or accidental firearms discharges. There is a real tragedy here and it is not that people can own AR-15s it is that we live in a society that does not want to look in the mirror and admit that there is a more systemic problem.
Sarah joins me to answer your questions about slings... the right way to use slings and the tacticool ones that you all want to hear about. There is a very short look at the threat that is posed by North Korea what to do about threats you find on the road and a very brief talk about bullpup weapons.
From the repatriation of German gold to the violation that Senator Dianne Feinstein is attempting to push through the congress. There are more things going on then you're going to get on your local news station so here I am to bring them to you.
Today we kick off the first in a series of looks at the weapons that helped to shape the 20th Century with a look at the Mosin-Nagant M91/30. This is the first repeating rifle to be adopted by Russia and was a staple of the Soviet Union for more than half a century. From the Boxer Rebellion to the wars being fought in Afghanistan and Iraq and more that likely in Mali and Algeria the M91.30 has racked up one of the highest body counts ever to be associated with a rifle.
As I shave with Occam's razor I though about all of the nonsense that there is about people trying to talk over the world and I though to my self "Gee Brain, What are we going to do tonight?" Myself replied "Te same thing we do every night Pinky, record a podcast and post it to iTunes!" As so we are here now talking about the end of the wold and the subjugation of the human race.
Sarah joins me as we talk about some of the issues of the day and celebrate our last year together. There is a lot that we have to cover and there are also so major tangents that we need to go off on as we get into today's show .
In response to the comments of the President I thought that I should offer up a more comprehensive examination of the real problem behind the violence in America. Though I have done a number of shows on this subject today this is a little more pointed and i approach from a slightly different angle. A Brief History of Violence and Medication Index of Violence and Medications
As the week begins we start of looking at the things that have been bugging you. Things such as Sure Sight Iron sights for your pistol, a short bit on Crew Served weapons for your friendly neighborhood militia. We look back at positive role models. We look at how Democrats really do want women to be nothing but victims and the reality that one day soon the lever action rifle might be the tactical rifle that we need to learn more about. We might even have some time for Black Powder CCW and School security if we can manage.
For all of those that want to know why you need a 30 round mag... here you go. This is a common sense look at why civilians should be allowed to own standard capacity magazines and the weapons that use them. This will fly in the face of everything that the media portrays so buckle up
The Media can't seem to be honest or to keep things in the proper prospective when it comes to terrorism and murder. Today I'll put it all into a nice little package that even CNN could get. I need to do this quickly because the zombies are here... as you will hear tomorrow.
Before we really get into the series on the rifles that defined the 20th century I need to do just the smallest bit of background on the rifle.
There are some of you that haven't been around that long and I though I'd give you the short version of who I am. So today I'll walk you through the history of this podcast from the start to now. You'll get a very brief look at my life, what my mission with this podcast is. I'll go into how my new monthly segment on KBKW's Coffee Talk is part of my mission to improve my community and reach out to my state. I'll talk to you a bit about my politics and how I got to where I am today and about the woman that has helped to get me here.
As we enter a new year there is already a new threat on the horizon to more than just the freedom to protect our homes and loved ones. But before we can discuss this at lengths there are a very other things such has killing and violence in American society that need to addressed. This is something that has been the focus of very few and that needs to be at the fore of any substantive discussion. There is a massive gap that is been left by the media, the educational system and by us, the gun owning community. One of the biggest things that need to be talked about, and that I will cover today is "The Myth of the Armed Society". This is not to disparage anyone but as always to educate and to get us one step closer to overcoming those that wish to rule us.
AS of today I am done... for the rest of 2012. This is a special unnumbered addition of the TGRP and I hope that it is something that you enjoy. From Sarah and I Happy Christmas and New Years.
When it comes to what happened in Connecticut and the dust up that has followed the media and politicians have only addressed the symptoms of the problem and not actually looked at what the underlying issue is. Today I'll go into this a bit and talk about some of the problems that people think are bad but need to be embraced and used to start to fix this problem in America.
