If you want to keep your videos more interesting to viewers (so they keep watching), one technique is to use different camera angles throughout your video. But you don't need multiple cameras and you don't need to shoot multiple takes of your video to achieve this. In fact, you can achieve this effect with only a single camera and only one take. In this video I show you exactly how.
Nearly all email clients block video because of virus potential...but there is a way you can include images in emails that look just like video. These are called animated images or animated GIF's. In fact, you can use these animated images anywhere on the web...like your blog, web pages or as avatars. But how do you turn a video into an animated image? Well, in this video I show you exactly how. Resources GeoVid VidGif
In my training at Web Video University, I offer a complete course on how to do video interviews, covering multiple tools and techniques for achieving TV style interviews on the web. But in this video, I share a free tool, Wetoku, which allows anyone to do quick and basic video interviews. Resources Wetoku
The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) in the United States recently released new guidelines that directly affect many Internet marketers. These new rules "go live" on December 1, 2009. In this audio interview, I speak with with Kevin Houchin...an attorney, blogger and author...where Kevin explains what a few of these new rules are and what to do to make sure you are in compliance with them. Public domain video is video that was never copyrighted or the copyright has expired. In either case, you are free to use these videos however you'd like. In this video, I show you where to find public domain videos...as well as how you can integrate public domain footage into your own videos. Resources Internet Archive Video Archive
Most entry-level video cameras don't contain a jack for an external microphone. As as result, you're stuck using the camera's built-in microphone...which typically records in sub-par quality...which means the audio in your videos sounds bad. In this video, I share a quick and easy way to get around this...a way to get very good audio...even if your stuck with a camera that only offers a built-in microphone.
A persistent question I receive is how to do animated text in videos. And the answer usually is to use After Effects, LiveType, third-party plugins or the ProType Titler in Sony Vegas Pro. However, all of those tools require a learning curve and can be expensive. But there is one text animation tool that is point-and-click simple...and affordable. You can see me demonstrate this tool in this video. Resources WildFX Pro
Last week Apple released a new version of their popular iPod Nano. And the big news was that the new Nano shoots video. But how good is the video recorded with the tiny iPod Nano? I show you in this video...shot entirely with an iPod Nano. Resources iPod Nano
Businesses using video sharing sites to help promote their message face two big obstacles; one, they are vying for attention in an endless sea of less-than-professional videos...and two...most companies block access to sharing sites like YouTube on their corporate networks. Enter eCorpTV.com, a startup designed specifically as a video sharing site for businesses and professionals. And a site not blocked by corporate networks. In this video, I interview Ali Swiatkowski of eCorpTV.com, where we discuss what eCorpTV is, how it can benefit you and how you can start using it immediately. Resources eCorpTV.com Web Site
About a month ago I did a video where I demonstrated how to embed your own videos, on your own web site, using the JW Player. Because that tool requires you to download and install things, it can be confusing to some people. So in this video I introduce you to the BitGravity Player. It's a free tool that allows you to do the same thing...embed your own videos, on your own web site. But there is nothing to download and install. In fact, with the BitGravity Player, you can have videos on your site in just seconds. Watch my video demonstration to see how. Resources BitGravity Player
In this video I review the Casio Exilim EX-FC100. It's a point and shoot still photo camera that shoots 9 megapixel images. It also shoots 1280x720 HD video. And to top if off, it also shoots high-speed video at 210, 420 or 1,000 frames per second. Shooting video at high speed produces super-slow-motion footage. Typical high-speed cameras cost thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. So how good is the high speed footage from the $250 Casio Exilim EX-FC100? Take a look at my video review to find out.
Every so often software comes out where the developers get just about everything right. Screenr is one of those applications. It's free screen recording software that integrates seamlessly into Twitter. It works on both Windows and Mac. There is nothing to download. Nothing to install. And it couldn't be any easier to use. The only thing you need to get started immediately is a Twitter account. And in this video, I share my hands-on review of this very cool software. Resources: Screenr
LiveStream is a free, live video streaming service (much like Ustream.TV). However, they offer unique (and free) software called Procaster that allows you to elegantly switch between live camera shots of your self...and shots of what you are doing on your screen. In this video I give a demonstration of LiveStream Procaster. In fact, the entire video was shot using it. Resources: LiveStream Procaster
When it comes to stock video clips, graphics or royalty-free music, most people go to iStockPhoto. But my favorite place is the Envato Marketplace, where you can find custom templates and graphics for your web sites, stock video clips and music for your videos, Adobe After Effects projects, video players and more. In this video I take you on a quick tour of everything available to you from Envato. Resources: http://envato.com/
If you watch a lot of webinar recordings or educational videos, many times it's easier to listen to the videos instead of watching them. But how exactly can you turn a web video into an MP3 file that can be played on an iPod, MP3 player or cell phone? In this video, I show you exactly how. Resources: RichFLV Adobe Air
