Tämän alueen maisema on jatkuvassa muutoksen tilassa. Ihmisasutusta in ollut tällä alueella jo vuosituhansien ajan, mikä käy ilmi kivi- ja rauta-aikaisten asumusten jäännöksistä. Todistusaineistoa on löytynyt vähintään 7000 vuoden takaa. ----Formal English---- High Coast and Kvarken Archipelago Two of the most unique geographical features in Scandinavia are located together in the northern part of the region. The Kvarken Archipelago sits right up against the High Coast, and together they form an extraordinary opportunity to study glaciation and its effects on the earth's surface. The archipelago is technically part of Finland, and Sweden holds the High Coast. The archipelago consists of more than 5,500 islands, which include some very unusual moraines, an indication of the glacial phenomenon that is going on there every day. As the ice sheet there has melted gradually over the past 20,000 years, the moraines have slowly formed. Meanwhile, this is causing the archipelago itself to push up from sea level quite rapidly—much faster than it is occurring anywhere else on the globe. Because of these glacial occurrences, the islands that form the archipelago are constantly changing shape and form. Some come together, while others separate and break apart. The land in this region is constantly changing and evolving. Humans have lived in the region for thousands of years, as indicated by the remains of homes from the Stone and Iron Ages. There is evidence dating back 7,000 years at least, and the fact that it is located in an area that is changing so rapidly has captured the attention of scientists and laypeople alike because it is unlike any other place on earth. In fact, the remains of the area are somewhat reversed because the oldest set of remains is actually the highest set rather than the lowest. --------------------------- Learn Finnish with FinnishPod101!
