Sunny Newport Beach, CA is the setting for Joe's hometown marathon.  It's the 2014 US Bank OC Marathon and Half Marathon.  Joe will take you to the expo then out on the course for 13.1 of the most beautiful miles in America.  It's a point to point race that runs along the ocean around the bay and up on a cliff before finishing at the Orange County fairgrounds.  Joe meets up with the race sponsor and some race directors at the expo.  He'll visit with a woman who took a 10 year taper and she prepares to come back to the sport.  Before the marathon Joe interviews the eventual woman's champion and some friends pacing the 3:20 pace team.  On the course Joe relives a crime he stumbled into while training one day, he'll paint some pictures of magnificent views and he'll visit with many runners to hear their amazing stories.  Enjoy!

A beautiful day in one of America's favorite cities is the setting for this Rock 'n' Roll race.  San Francisco plays host and Transamerica is the sponsor of this point to point half marathon.  While at the expo, we visit with some locals who tell us what they love about San Francisco, plus we'll talk with some runners and vendors.  Race day is early with the start line near the Pacific Ocean and the finish line at City Hall.  Along the way we'll bump into some very tall women who are running, a guy who complains the "On Air" sign is too small, people running for a cause, the Michelob Ultra sponsor and a restaurant owner who doesn't want the show in his space.  We also interview people just as they finish.  Great stories.

Joe was part of the announcing team at the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon.  It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles as more than 25,000 runners ran from the LA Dodgers Stadium to the seaside finish in Santa Monica.  We'll take a short stop at the expo, talk with some old friends, a few vendors and the race officials from the San Francisco Marathon.  Joe caught up the the CEO of the LA Marathon and spent 15 minutes talking about the event, the bright future of the LA Marathon and the Olympic Trials.  At the end Joe shares some thoughts about what it's like to watch you finish a marathon.

The California UT 1020 was a beautiful 10 mile race along the ocean beginning in scenic Del Mar, CA.  Come on out and with Joe as paints a picture of a rave run, gets hassled by some runners and does some double duty at the finish line.  The show closes with some updates on his experience announcing the Tri City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and what's next for The Marathon Show television show.

We're off to the Surf City Marathon today.  It's set in Huntington Beach, CA on the ocean on Super Bowl Sunday.  More than 20,000 people come out for these events each year.  This year we produced this show and filmed The Marathon Show for television.  You'll hear Joe take you out on the race course and talk about the experience of filming a marathon for the show.  Along the way you'll hear his Super Bowl prediction and meet some amazing people battling cancer.  You'll also hear him looking for the person who dropped the "Go Jesus" sign, he'll talk to a woman walking walking backwards pulling a jogging stroller and some of the comedy involved in using runners, spectators and volunteers as actors in the show.

Kick off the new year with an amazing race weekend.  Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL was the host of the 2014 Walt Disney World Marathon weekend.  Over 70,000 runners came out for the events that included a marathon.  Joe takes you to the expo then out all 26.2 miles on the race course.  You'll hear stories of courage, hope and inspiration.  You'll also hear about a funny scene of a man in the bushes, some cranky guy that follows Joe as long as he can, a quick visit on course with Bart Yasso, and many of you who listen to the show found Joe and spent time on the microphone as we worked our way along.  It was a beautiful day in the happiest place on earth.

A half marathon at 10:00 pm in Walt Disney World makes for a great race setting.  We're headed to Florida today for the 2013 Wine and Dine Half Marathon.  It's a fun race that finishes in Epcot where runners can hang out until after 4:00 am.  We'll bump into Rudy Novotny, hear from Team AllEars and learn something new about heart rate monitors at the expo.  While running and broadcasting you'll get an update on how Boston is recovering, a recap of the NYC Marathon, Joe starts singing the Canadian National Anthem and we'll be inspired by a remarkable woman who is running through cancer.  All that plus a ton of funny moments along the way.

For his 12th birthday Colby Wentlandt asked his parents for a marathon.  Since then he's run two 50 mile races, a 50k and three 100 mile races.  He has yet to celebrate his 13th birthday.  We visit with Colby and his mother to talk about what he's learned, how he trains, what his doctor says, the feedback they get from other runners and medical personnel, things he does for fun and what he's thinking about in the future.    It's a fascinating look at a remarkable runner who happens to be 12 years old.
