James Onen is a radio personality and an atheist from Uganda. He is also founding member of Freethought Kampala. James talks about the skeptic/atheist movement and what effects of religion he thinks are harmful. We also discuss what makes the time/effort put into promoting logic and reason worth it. The guest on this podcast is Franc Hoggle. Franc writes a blog called Grey Lining. Franc has also stirred up a lot of skeptics and atheists with his posts. This is a chance to hear the reasoning behind greylining instead of reading assumptions made by people who really know very little if anything about Franc. There is a small portion of the secular movement that seems stuck on ruling the rest and dictating behavior. Franc talks about that segment and the real effects they have on anything . The Angry Atheist welcomes the first guest from France to the show, Phil Giordana. Phil gives some insight into what people think of atheism in his country. We also talk about how many Americans forget there are other atheists from different cultures around the world. We discuss the A+ movement which could very well be the one thing that keeps us from making the progress needed to make atheism a normal, accepted way of thinking in the United States. As if it wasn't an uphill battle already.Phil also explains the difference in word usage between the US and the French. It's a look at things from a different perspective and  it's an example of how in many ways we are alike but our differences will keep us apart if we allow them to.     Dayln Limesand joins the podcast this time. Dayln is a college student at UND and he tells us how atheism is doing at his school and some of the things he has to worry about as a result of his non-belief. TomthePreacher comes around to UND every year spreading around the rumor that the bible is the actual word of god. Dayln heard part of Tom's presentation and he gives us some insight on what to expect if Tom comes to your town. One hint, 'evilution'. Please welcome Herb Silverman to the Angry Atheist podcast. Herb was raised Jewish, he is now an atheist, activist who lives in South Carolina. He ran for public office in order to challenge the law against it. Herb also talks about his book Candidate Without A Prayer: An Autobiography of a Jewish Atheist in the Bible Belt as well as the work he has done with secular groups. He even and teaches us just a little bit about math. Herb's book has received some great reviews.   Brian Fields, President of Pennsylvania Non-Believers is the guest this time around.Brian talks about the PA State Atheist/Humanist Conference. It is a gathering of atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers and skeptics at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg, PA from September 28th-30th, 2012. Why do school boards and people involved in government functions often feel the need to pray before their meetings? Brian talks about some of the actions his group is taking to put an end to the practice. What is going on in Pennsylvania when the elected representatives are using their time and energy to pass a "year of the bible" declaration and  some bill to recognize all religious books as respected by everyone? Brian lives in a state that has become infamous due to some of the ways religion is inserted into government, forced on others, and the way atheists are made to feel unwelcome.
