I'm back. Lots to get off my chest. For instance, would doing something awful to make the world a better place make you a horrible person? Oh, and a rant about people who think the earth is flat and why they are total morons. This is MYN Says. Recorded on the MYN Secret Weapon Microphone.  

What'd ya think? Silky smooth with a rich body, right? The highs are sweetly rolled off and the lows are so smoothly bold. Mmmm-mmmm. I don't sing at all (obviously), so if this mic can make me sound good, imagine what this baby could do with someone who has real pipes! Meet the MYN-8412. This Mic features a clone of a vintage Neumann KM84 circuit adapted for LDC capsules. What's really cool is that this circuit is extremely close to the U87 circuit, but without the corrective EQ section created for 87-style capsules. When you use this circuit with a capsule like the installed RK-12, you get, well... you get a big, big sound. Run that circuit through a Cinemag transformer and you get a warm, buttery tone guaranteed to give you a serious case of the feels. Along with the circuit similarities to a vintage U87, the MYN-8412 also has the same sensitivity, approx (8 mV/Pa). I also modded it so that the low end goes deep. This mic punches way, way above its price point. It is built with premium parts: WIMA and Kemet caps, Dale resistors and, the Cinemag 5722, a.k.a., the heart and soul of tone.

The Sennheiser MKH-416 has a sonic signature designed to capture dialogue for film and TV production and at some point someone realized it also made a great mic for voice over. Now, a VO industry standard, the 416 delivers tracks with the kind of presence that cuts through a mix. It's a sound producers know and look for in your bookings and auditions. As a VO artist, If you want or need that sound, and have a $1,000 to spend, the 416 is no-brainer. But what if you could get that 416 sound for a fraction of the price?
